The latest store from leading fashion footwear destination schuh will be located on the upper level of the shopping centre and span nearly 2,800 square metres. The store invites customers to explore an extensive range of best-selling adults, and kids’ footwear brands, alongside schuh’s exclusive own-label collection.
The store environment delivers a shopping experience that fosters self-expression with collections presented by brands and sportswear showcased in a gender neutral format. The store boasts enhanced technology to improve purchasing experiences, including a to-the-floor conveyor installation, which brings product directly from the stockroom to the shop floor; the first schuh store to introduce this feature. schuh want as many people as possible to be able to visit its stores and for customers to feel confident, welcomed and valued. To support neurodiverse and disabled customers, staff are given disability confidence training and autism awareness training.
To celebrate this latest store opening schuh has created a series of in-store experiences to inspire connection, creativity and community.
schuh will team up with London-based waste design studio Are You Mad to deliver a one-of-a-kind upcycled lace charm pop-up. Customers who purchase a new pair of shoes on opening day can personalise them with handcrafted charms made from repurposed materials, courtesy of Are You Mad. Using culture as the catalyst for change, Are You Mad are experts in transforming discarded materials into objects, furniture and shop fits.
Shoppers can explore an immersive, multi-sensory installation in partnership with iconic sportswear brand, ASICS. Embodying the brands’ ‘Sound Mind, Sound Body’ philosophy, the activation guides visitors through the space using ambient sounds, mood-boosting fragrances and warm lighting to discover their must-have sneakers of the season. The experience also features an interactive breathwork guide to inspire mindfulness and relaxation.
schuh and ASICS are collaborating with City Daze – a conscious walking club with curated conversations – co-founded by happiness consultant Zoe Mallett and mindfulness practitioner Rose Eskafi. On opening day, City Daze will lead a community mental wellness walk, which will begin at the new schuh store, with the aim of breaking down barriers and encouraging meaningful conversation. Participants will learn techniques for effective communication, self-reflection, and incorporating mindfulness into everyday life.
Bringing schuh’s London footprint to 6 and its total store estate to 124, this year has seen schuh open 4 new stores, expanding its store portfolio to include retail parks in Liverpool and Broughton, and a new store in Ireland. schuh has also invested in upgrading several of its stores in shopping centres such as Westfield Stratford and Bluewater.
