Scottish Bee Company introduces chocolate spread Scottish Blossom honey

Scottish Bee CompanSpreads and jams are yet another stagnating staple food category being reshaped by wider World Cuisine aspirations. Today jam’s fortunes are far from sunny, whilst nostalgic old classics like lemon curd and marmalade rarely get mentioned in dispatches; an uncomfortably sticky situation made worse by waning enthusiasm for bread.

Step forward artisanal peanut butters inspired by our good friends from across the pond and alluring chocolate/nut spreads packed with Continental allure.

Unfortunately, many well-known chocolate spreads flatter to deceive, rammed full of lazy sugar and second-best ingredients.

Luckily the Scottish Bee Company’s new chocolate spread offers the perfect blend of Fairtrade chocolate, ethically sourced Scottish milk and butter and a generous ladle of sublime, Scottish Blossom honey.

According to Scottish Bee Company founder, Suzie Millar says: “Our business started as a knowing nod to playing our part in reversing bee’s declining numbers.  We saw an opportunity to tap into Scotland’s striking countryside by working alongside other local beekeepers to showcase the compelling superiority of small batch, homegrown honey over hyped mass-market, conveyor belt honeys shipped over from China.  Our thoughtfully collected Scottish honey packs an honest nutritional punch (brimming with beneficial manganese, B2,B3, B5, B9 C, E  & K), making it the perfect hero ingredient for a thoroughly decadent chocolate spread.”
