Søstrene Grene strengthens Scottish presence with second Edinburgh store opening in Gyle

Søstrene Grene, the popular Scandinavian lifestyle brand, has announced plans to open its second store in Edinburgh later this year. The new store will be located at Gyle Shopping Centre, with the official opening date to be confirmed soon.

The news follows the brand’s successful launch at Waverley Market in 2024 and marks the next step in the Danish brand’s Scottish expansion, bringing its distinctive blend of design-led interiors, craft and hobby items and thoughtfully curated homewares – all at accessible price points – to Gyle shoppers.

With more than 400 stores now open worldwide, the new Gyle opening reflects Søstrene Grene’s continued commitment to continued commitment to growth across Scotland and the UK.  With its signature Scandinavian aesthetic and accessible prices, the new store will be a strong addition to the centre’s retail offering

Mikkel Grene, Group CEO and Co-owner of Søstrene Grene, comments: “The launch of our second store in Edinburgh reflects how much we value this region and its customers.  We are delighted to bring the Søstrene Grene experience to even more of the Scottish community and further strengthen our presence across the UK.

“Designed to be a welcoming and immersive space, the Gyle store will invite customers to experience the essence of Scandinavian living and find inspiration. Visitors will also be introduced to the Danish concept of ‘hygge’, a feeling of comfort, warmth and togetherness that sits at the heart of Søstrene Grene.”

County Managers, Norma Jacob and Richard Power, who operate Søstrene Grene stores across Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Ireland, are also excited about this new opening.

Norma Jacob comments: “We are looking forward to bringing our carefully sourced homewares and design-led pieces to Gyle shoppers. Opening our second store in Edinburgh marks an exciting new phase for Søstrene Grene.”

Richard Power adds: “Gyle Shopping Centre is a prime retail destination and we can’t wait to welcome shoppers to experience our unique Scandinavian atmosphere. Our expansion into Waverley Market in 2024 was met with such a positive response and we’re confident the new Edinburgh store will be just as well received.”

The official Grand Opening of Søstrene Grene, Gyle will be announced very soon.
