Specsavers’ flagship store in Tottenham Court Road has opened the doors to its new premises, bringing more life-enhancing technology to customers.

Located in the heart of the West End, the new Specsavers Tottenham Court Road store now boasts the latest diagnostic testing equipment, digital screens showcasing offers, and an extensive array of designer glasses and value-led frames – allowing customers to choose glasses to suit their style and budget.

To mark the million-pound investment and to officially launch the locally owned and run store, Dame Mary Perkins, co-founder of Specsavers, joined in with the celebrations and cut the green ribbon.

Dame Mary Perkins says: ‘Specsavers has been proud to serve the West End for many years, and this new store is a reflection of our ongoing commitment to the local community. We’re delighted to continue building strong relationships here, offering trusted care and creating a welcoming space for everyone who walks through our doors.’

Being part of the West End for over 26 years, having previously been based across the road, the store team now situated at 237-247 Tottenham Court Road has built up a reputation for delivering outstanding customer service and clinical expertise in optics and audiology.

Ophthalmic director Sirjit Sanghera says: ‘We’re thrilled that Dame Mary is able to be with us today celebrating our new-look store, which offers customers a more streamlined experience, including an updated IT system and access to the very latest diagnostic hospital grade equipment.’

Specsavers Tottenham Court Road customers can benefit from state-of-the-art  equipment, including OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography). The technology allows optometrists to take a 3D image of the back of the eye to help spot serious eye conditions, including glaucoma, up to four years earlier than traditional methods.

A dedicated audiology centre offers a soundproof booth for customers to have their hearing checked, coupled with the latest micro-suction equipment for wax removal.

There are now five consulting rooms, one diagnostic testing area and a contact lens station offering enhanced facilities to customers. The store holds four sight clinics a day plus daily hearing clinics.

Mo El-Turki, Director & Dispensing Optician, comments: ‘During our launch week, we’re offering customers £40 off designer glasses, plus we have live sight test availability.

‘We’ve invited local businesses, commuters and residents to visit the store, where they can meet the team, listen to our guest DJ while relaxing at our juice bar or browse over the extensive range of frames and discuss any queries with the experts on hand.

‘Our aim is to ensure the best eyecare is available to everyone, as we also offer value-led frames starting at just £15.’

Specsavers recommend that adults and children should have an eye test at least every two years, or more often if advised by their optician. The NHS will cover the full cost of an eye test for anyone who qualifies. All children under 16, as well as those under 19 in full-time education, are entitled to an NHS funded eye test.

To book in for an eye test or hearing check, you can contact Specsavers Tottenham Court Road located at 237-247 Tottenham Court Road, London W1T 7QX on 020 7580 5115.

Alternatively, you can book online at: https://www.specsavers.co.uk/stores/tottenhamcourtroad.
