St-Rémy, the world’s number one French brandy, unveils its exclusive collaboration with celebrated French visual artist Tomalater, which unites the worlds of fine spirits and urban artistry. Tomalater brings his vibrant semi-abstract, geometric, and colourful art vision into the St-Rémy brand with a stunning limited-edition bottle design. Influenced by architecture and modular games, Tomalater’s signature artistic style blends dynamic colours and captivating geometrical shapes, playing with perspectives.
The limited-edition St-Rémy XO bottle, designed by Tomalater, is available at RRP £26.50 (700ml) in Waitrose stores nationwide and online via Waitrose Cellar.
From 28 September to 5 October, St-Rémy will take over the Wine Bar at Waitrose King’s Cross, serving its limited-edition bottle alongside a full week of activities. These include a talk by Tomalater and a tasting led by St-Rémy Master Blender Cécile at The Cross London on 1 October from 6-9pm, giving guests an exclusive opportunity to explore the flavours and craftsmanship behind this special release.
At the heart of this collaboration lie the shared values of harmony, generosity, and conviviality, all of which Tomalater and St-Rémy hold dear. It is a meeting of two artists: Tomalater, the artist who explores unique colours, shapes, and memories, and Cécile, the
St-Rémy Master Blender, who expertly crafts harmonious blends from eaux-de-vie that come from diverse French terroirs.
The unique artwork by Tomalater is a perfect blend of their two universes: drawing inspiration from the diverse landscapes explored by Cécile, where the villages intertwine with the vineyards, creating a harmonious blend just like St-Rémy XO itself.
“I love working with St-Rémy, not only for the creative freedom they give me, but also for my encounter with Cécile, whose passion and expertise deeply inspire me,” says Tomalater. “The work I create is inspired by the diversity of the wine-growing regions from which the different brandy grape varieties originate. I imagine a mosaic of shapes and colours in which vineyards and villages mingle, echoing the rich flavours of St-Rémy XO.”
Tomalater’s captivating bottle artwork is inspired by a ‘tasting and masterclass’ with Master Blender Cécile Roudaut, where he translates St-Rémy XO’s bold flavours of vanilla and wood, paired with the delicate notes of ripe fruits and honey, into different shades of colour.
“Tomalater’s captivating art brings a unique twist to our St-Rémy XO bottle,” says Aveline Rimbaud, Executive Director at St-Rémy. “For St-Rémy, it is the diversity of the eaux-de-vie sourced from the different French wine regions. For Tomalater, it is his multifaceted art, geometric shapes, and endless generosity that lie at the heart of his work. We share the belief that harmony is born from diversity.”
Both Cécile Roudaut and Tomalater embody the spirit of exploration in their unique ways: exploring, waiting, observing, and capturing, which results in a harmonious creation.
The limited-edition St-Rémy XO bottle designed by Tomalater is also available internationally, in addition to the UK, in Canada, Australia, France, Germany, Malaysia, South Korea, New Zealand, the UAE, Estonia, and Ukraine, including duty-free stores worldwide.
