Starbucks UK steps into fashion culture with The Devil Wears Prada

Twenty years after The Devil Wears Prada made the Starbucks cup a fashion-week essential, Starbucks UK takes centre stage as the official coffee sponsor of The Devil Wears Prada: The Musical at London’s Dominion Theatre. To mark the partnership, Starbucks will unveil The Coffee Edit, its first fashion-inspired pop-up at its Soho Place coffeehouse, just moments from the theatre.

From the 13 March, that cultural crossover steps off the stage and into stores, with an immersive coffeehouse takeover, exclusive prizes, and playful nods to the musical, all building anticipation for the Spring film sequel.  “Partnering with The Devil Wears Prada: The Musical is a brilliant moment for Starbucks UK. The show has become a huge part of London’s cultural conversation, and we’re proud to help bring fans closer to it” said Vic Robertson, marketing director, Starbucks UK. “This new partnership builds on the renowned role Starbucks plays in The Devil Wears Prada and now The Musical, celebrating how everyday coffee rituals can become a symbol of individuality, fueling creativity in an industry that never stands still. Starbucks coffeehouses are spaces where ideas are shaped, perspectives are formed, and creative ambition takes root.”

The producers of the UK production have said: “We’re thrilled to officially partner with Starbucks in celebrating the shared legacy of two iconic brands. This joint initiative honours the enduring, trailblazing influence of The Devil Wears Prada Musical in a way that feels fresh, stylish, and delightfully playful. Complete with a chic nod to one of cinema’s most iconic coffee orders, this is a collaboration Miranda Priestley herself fully approves. That’s All.”

Starbucks presence has long been woven into the fabric of the fashion industry, from energising designers and backstage teams at fashion weeks to front-row moments, the iconic Starbucks cup has become an unofficial accessory of editors and showgoers alike. To build on that legacy and to celebrate the new partnership, Starbucks is bringing runway glamour into the coffeehouse with a one-day-only, fashion-led takeover. On 13 March from 17:00-19:00pm, The Coffee Edit will transform a London store into an elevated, curated experience in collaboration with THE CIRKEL, the destination for pre-owned luxury designer fashion. The free, ticketed pop-up invites fashion lovers to reimagine their daily coffee ritual as a moment of self-expression, creativity and connection.

This time, the coffee run has never been closer, with the experience taking place at Starbucks Soho Place store, just minutes from the Dominion Theatre. The Coffee Edit invites guests to browse a handpicked edit of pre-loved designer pieces inspired by the film’s most memorable wardrobes and runway moments. Across four rails, shoppers will find cerulean blue statements and Parisian runway silhouettes, with pieces priced from £30.00 – £350.00, all while carrying the real ‘it-bag’ of the moment: samples of the Starbucks new Spring Ube range.

THE CIRKEL, founded by Eliza Batten, commented: “This was such a fun project for the team and me. The show has so many inspirational characters with iconic wardrobes that narrowing it down to four rails felt borderline impossible. For us at THE CIRKEL, it was about creating a resale experience that elevates everyday moments – combining style, sustainability and culture in a way that feels accessible and exciting, all with the ultimate accessory: coffee.”

For those unable to attend in person, the shopping experience will also be livestreamed on THE CIRKEL TikTok channel ahead of the opening between 16:00-17:00pm, enabling fashion enthusiasts across the UK to shop the collection virtually in real time.

Across its UK coffeehouses nationwide, Starbucks will launch a limited-time social competition from 13 March, inviting customers to win premium prizes in celebration of the new partnership.

Customers simply need to scan the QR code on stickers in select London stores*, or enter direct via Starbucks UK socials, to unlock access to an exclusive 3-tier prize draw. Premium prizes range from a trip to Milan, to exclusive merchandise and ticket giveaways to the musical, alongside a host of additional rewards.
