A brand-new Starbucks® store opened on Stourbridge High Street on Thursday 14 November, creating 9 jobs in the area, introducing features that will put the local community at the centre of the store.
Starbucks has reimagined the way coffee brings people together with this new format, allowing members of the Stourbridge community to get together by making use of a bookable space at no extra cost. From hosting a weekly book club to knuckling down for study sessions, customers can reserve the space to suit their needs, and order beverages and food right to their table*. For information on booking, please see below.
The store offers a more simplified menu, focusing on Starbucks core products such as a classic Latte, as well as our new freshly baked range, with a number of delicious pastries and cookies baked on site. The store has been designed with a streamlined bar area to provide greater comfort with more relaxed seating available, ensuring customers have the best experience in store. Starbucks also offers a 25p discount to all customers who bring a reusable cup when purchasing a drink, in all stores across the UK.
Shawn Devonport, regional operations manager, Starbucks UK, says: “We are delighted to open our new store in Stourbridge and are proud to offer an exciting new bookable space for the local community to use and make our space their own. This opening reflects Starbucks commitment to creating welcoming, community coffee houses where people can gather and connect over a delicious cup of handcrafted coffee served by our talented baristas.”
The new store in Stourbridge will also collaborate with several local charities and organisations supported by Starbucks UK, enabling employees (partners) and the local community to come together to support local initiatives.
Starbucks has a longstanding partnership with NHS Charities Together** and is providing funding for Dudley Group NHS Charity, based in Russells Hall. NHS Charities Together is the national charity helping the NHS to thrive and making sure everyone can get the healthcare they deserve by improving patient care, ensuring everyone has access to health services, and making sure NHS staff are cared for.
High Oak Youth and Community Centre food bank will receive food donations from Starbucks. The Centre works with young people and the community to provide support through all aspects of life, including recreational activities, employability skills and personal development programmes.
Finally, Starbucks green apron partners will support Riverside House Nature Hub, through donating used coffee grounds to encourage healthy soil at their site as well as volunteering their time. Starbucks supports local nature projects through its partnership with the Hubbub® Nature Hubs Fund, donating £565,000 since 2023 to aid the creation of 100 new community green spaces across the UK***.
