Vermouth di Torino “alla maniera di Strucchi” (www.strucchi.land/en) is a contemporary vermouth brand, proudly made in Italy. Strucchi’s ambition is to restore vermouth to its early 20th century golden age, when “Vermouth Hour” was an unmissable ritual, bringing together people from all walks of life in Italian bars for a pre-dinner aperitivo. April 2026 sees Strucchi launch two versatile and approachable vermouths, Vermouth di Torino Bianco and Vermouth di Torino Rosso created exclusively for Marks & Spencer (RRP £16 per 75cl bottle, 16% ABV); they are rolling out to 491 M&S stores nationwide as the only vermouth available from the retailer.
The Vermouths
Strucchi Bianco
Fresh and harmonious, Strucchi Bianco is crafted through the fortification and aromatisation of Italian white wine. It is characterised by notes of wormwood, thyme, and sage, while a smooth, rounded finish is enhanced by delicate hints of vanilla.
Strucchi Rosso
Produced from the same base wines and following the same fortification and aromatisation process, Strucchi Rosso offers a rich and persistent profile. Bright citrus notes of orange intertwined with hints of rhubarb and clove, while cinnamon and caramel bring a warm, spicy finish, alongside its characteristic deep amber hue.
Marks and Spencer’s buyer, Panagiota Polyzoudi says, “Vermouth is such a cornerstone of a good home bar, we wanted to create an exclusive high quality and authentic red and white vermouth that will have any cocktail lover ready for aperitivo hour. Strucchi’s complex yet balanced flavours will appeal to cocktail connoisseurs and their beautiful label designs will stand out on shelf and as part of home bars across the country.”
This significant agreement was secured by Seymour Ferreira, CEO of Chimera Brand Development, who, together with the Strucchi team, is leading the brand’s long-term brand development strategy across retail, on-trade, and premium channels.
Heritage & Inspiration
Strucchi takes its name from a pivotal figure in the history of Vermouth di Torino: Arnaldo Strucchi. Born in Canelli (Piedmont), he was a visionary oenologist who, with his 1907 book Il Vermouth di Torino, recognised the need to affirm the authenticity of Piedmontese vermouth at a time when imitations were beginning to emerge. His work laid the foundations for what would later become officially recognised guidelines, culminating in the establishment of the Consorzio del Vermouth di Torino and the introduction of Protected Geographical Indication (PGI, known in Italy as IGP) status.
Today, Strucchi reinterprets this tradition “in the manner of Strucchi” through recipes inspired by his philosophy, while embracing a contemporary spirit tailored to the modern consumer.
In celebration of the partnership with Marks & Spencer, and drawing on the legacy of Arnaldo Strucchi, the labels have been illustrated by Riccardo Guasco, an internationally renowned artist known for his distinctive and instantly recognisable style. The designs pay tribute to the imaginary world of two iconic 20th-century figures who, like Strucchi in the world of vermouth, helped shape drinking culture and the art of mixology in Italy and the United Kingdom.
At the heart of the Rosso label is a reinterpretation of the icon of Domizio Cavazza, widely regarded as the father of Barbaresco wine. In the early 1900s, he played a key role in enhancing and redefining this wine, transforming it into an enduring symbol of Italian excellence.
The Bianco label offers a reinterpretation inspired by Ada Coleman, a pioneering British bartender and the first woman to hold the position of Head Bartender at the American Bar at The Savoy from 1903 through to the 1920s.
