Tesco has launched a new eight-part content series, Tesco Kitchen, to help inspire customers with mouth-watering new recipes, as well as little known tips and tricks from some of the UK’s most exciting food and drink experts including Fred Sirieix and Meera Sodha.
The flagship series, which will premiere on YouTube and be available across Tesco’s digital channels, is hosted by broadcaster and author Greg James, and chef and author Seema Pankhania. In each episode, the guest will introduce a dish that is meaningful to them, giving them the opportunity to share their love of food and cooking, as well as a look at their experience and what inspires them in the kitchen. Together, the three cook the guest’s chosen dish, alongside a complimentary dish that has been selected by Seema to help viewers bring together a full meal.
Beyond the inspirational recipes, which have all been selected to taste delicious whilst being suitable for all cooking abilities to prepare, guests and Seema will be sharing their expert tips, tricks and twists throughout the series to help home cooks refresh their daily cooking and elevate their own meals. What’s more, fellow host Greg – a self-described foodie but one who is keen to level up his own cooking – will be learning new skills alongside those tuning into the series with the energy and enthusiasm he is famous for.
Greg James says: “I love messing around in the kitchen and cooking for people at home so to be asked to host this show with someone as exciting and talented as Seema is a real treat. The guests all bring something different to each show – literally – and it means I get to meet loads of brilliant new people, learn how to be a better cook and crucially get to eat everything we make. What’s not to like.”
Seema Pankhania says: “I’m so excited to be involved in the Tesco Kitchen. I grew up going to big Tesco, my mum has worked in Tesco my entire life and our whole community was based around attending events and meeting friends there, so it’s a real 360 moment to be involved in this project. I have always been so obsessed with food because of mum, she would always cook the most incredible Indian food, but she wouldn’t cook anything else, so if I wanted to learn about food from other countries, I’d have to teach myself. Which is why I am so excited about this series, because I am learning so many things about different people, the food they love and have grown up eating. I’m excited for the viewers to learn all their tips and tricks too!”
The new series launches on 13 January with Fred Sirieix as the first guest. The series is available on YouTube, with a new episode landing each week. The recipes from each episode will be available on Tesco Real Food so they can be recreated at home.
