The Collective secures dairy-free product listing in Planet Organic

The CollectiveThe Collective, the disruptive and innovative yoghurt brand, has secured a listing with Planet Organic for its dairy-free product range.

These products will be available in 13 of Planet Organic’s stores across the UK, comprising a mixture of dairy-free versions of The Collective’s renowned gourmet pots (big and small formats), as well as the popular ‘suckies’ yoghurt pouches for kids which were launched in September 2022.

The dairy-free range addresses the rising demand for dairy alternatives owing to an increase in intolerances and flexitarian lifestyles. For kids specifically, this is currently an under-represented space – only 2% of the 14% market share of chilled yoghurt products for children are dairy-free, despite there being an estimated 18.4m dairy-free households across the UK.

The UK-made gourmet pots feature a unique and delicious blend of oat, coconut and rice, making for a more accessible and less polarising taste profile than other dairy free yoghurt alternatives, and the ‘suckies’ are packed with Vitamin D, B12 and calcium, as well as being significantly below average in sugars per 100g in comparison to other offerings in the market.

Since launching in 2021, dairy-free gourmet has exhibited +19.6% value growth YOY*, making The Collective the second fastest growing brand in the dairy free category.

In the kids yoghurt category, The Collective’s dairy-free ‘suckies’ products are currently the fastest selling dairy-free branded NPD range in the market, and won The Grocer’s top yoghurt launch of the year for 2022.

Sarah Smart, CEO of The Collective UK, comments: “At The Collective, we are proud to be leading the charge when it comes to delivering exceptionally tasty products with superb health credentials. Dairy-free and plant-based options, particularly for children, are an area of the category where there is a huge level of innovation taking place, helping the positively transform and expand the range of quality options available for consumers.

“Our dairy-free ‘suckies’ pouches make the perfect nutritious on-the-go snack addressing a current gap in the market, and are increasingly popular amongst families with children who suffer from intolerances or are keen to enjoy a flexitarian diet. We are delighted to have Planet Organic’s endorsement as we continue to grow the presence of our dairy-free ranges across all UK retailers.”

The listing in Planet Organic officially goes live in March and the products that will be stocked includes the following:

  1. The Collective dairy-free raspberry gourmet yoghurt 400g
  2. The Collective dairy-free passion fruit gourmet yoghurt 400g
  3. The Collective dairy-free fudge gourmet yoghurt 400g
  4. The Collective dairy-free raspberry 135g
  5. The Collective dairy-free passion fruit 135g
  6. The Collective dairy-free suckies strawberry yoghurt 90g
  7. The Collective dairy-free suckies banana yoghurt 90g
  8. The Collective dairy-free suckies peach & apricot yoghurt 90g

The dairy-free gourmet pots are available in Tesco, Ocado and Sainsburys, and the ‘suckies’ can be purchased in Tesco, Waitrose and Ocado, with new listings and distribution increases in the pipeline for 2023.
