Leading retail and leisure destination, Trafford Centre, is thrilled to announce that Flying Tiger Copenhagen, the much-loved Danish variety store is set to open its doors at the centre on Friday 14th February.

The new 1,500sq ft store, located on Upper Peel Avenue will feature the brand’s core ranges, alongside its seasonal love-themed product range in celebration of Valentine’s Day. This marks the brand’s 81st in the UK, amongst a global footprint of over 1,000 stores in 36 different countries.

Renowned for its ever-evolving product range, sustainability is also at the core of Flying Tiger Copenhagen’s ethos. The brand’s commitment to conduct business ethically and responsibly runs through its entire value chain, from sourcing and shipping to the running of its stores and end-life of products.

This commitment to all things green aligns with Trafford Centre’s pioneering ESG programme, For Our Future, which has seen the centre implement initiatives to reduce the direct greenhouse gas emissions of the spaces it controls to achieve Net Zero Carbon in Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 2030.

Alongside sustainability, Flying Tiger Copenhagen, which was founded in 1995, is committed to creating joyous experiences for its consumers. As such, on opening day the first 200 customers will be gifted exclusive complimentary goody bags, complete with items from the newest product ranges.

This store opening will also create 16 new permanent job positions for 2025.

Michael Burke, managing firector for Flying Tiger Copenhagen UK & Ireland, commented: “Flying Tiger Copenhagen aims to inspire and make every day extraordinary through affordable, design-led products. The opening of our Trafford Centre store marks our first opening in 2025 and expansion of our presence in the UK, bringing our unique shopping experience to even more customers. What’s more, Trafford Centre has been a target destination for Flying Tiger Copenhagen for a number of years as we focus on store opening opportunities in the North West of the UK, so we look forward to seeing how visitors to the centre embrace the new offering.”

Kate Pearson, director of asset management, Pradera Lateral – Trafford Centre’s Asset Managers, added: “Flying Tiger Copenhagen has an excellent reputation, bringing Scandinavian design and affordability to an enthusiastic customer base. We are sure Trafford Centre visitors will enthusiastically welcome this fantastic variety store to the centre.”
