Trewithen Dairy launches Regen Milk into Tesco stores nationwide

Trewithen DairyTrewithen Dairy (https://www.trewithendairy.co.uk/), has proudly announced the launch of its groundbreaking Regen Milk, available nationwide at 640 Tesco stores from Wednesday 16 October. This innovative product – available in 1L (RRP £1.55) and 2L (RRP £2.40) semi-skimmed bottles – marks a significant milestone in the Cornish dairy’s commitment to sustainable and regenerative farming practices.

Born out of Trewithen Dairy’s deep-rooted philosophy of caring for the land and animals, Regen Milk represents a forward-thinking approach to dairy production. Since 2020, Trewithen has been working closely with local farms to implement regenerative farming techniques. This process enhances soil health, boosts biodiversity, and sequesters carbon, all while producing the high-quality milk Trewithen is known for.

Francis Clarke, Chief Procurement Officer at Trewithen Dairy, said “At Trewithen, we believe that producing delicious dairy products goes hand in hand with caring for the environment. Regen Milk is the result of years of collaboration with our dedicated farming partners. By adopting regenerative practices, we’re not just improving the quality of our milk but also making a meaningful contribution back to the land.”

53% of consumers expressed a preference for locally sourced products from regenerative farms, likening them with freshness and higher quality (Soil Association,). In recognition of the additional benefits regenerative farming brings to the environment and local communities, Trewithen Dairy is committed to supporting its farmers financially. Farmers producing Regen Milk are paid 5p more per litre compared to conventional milk, reinforcing Trewithen’s dedication to fair and sustainable farming practices. This additional income supports farmers in their transition to regenerative methods, ensuring long-term viability and fostering a more resilient farming community.

The launch of Regen Milk is the culmination of a long journey, one that began with just two farms embracing regenerative methods. Today, six farms have joined this movement, allowing Trewithen Dairy to produce enough volume to meet growing consumer demand for sustainable products. Regen Milk is not only a testament to the innovation of Trewithen Dairy but also to the passion and dedication of its farmers.

Farmers rotate the free-grazing dairy cows every five days to fresh pasture, cultivate diverse plant species, and avoid artificial fertilizers by using natural methods such as clover planting. These practices not only enhance the soil but help reduce carbon emissions.

“Regen Milk is just the beginning of a larger shift towards more sustainable dairy farming in the UK. We’re excited to bring this product to consumers and invite them to join us on this journey of positive change,” adds Clarke.

The launch of Regen Milk reinforces Trewithen’s position as a leader in quality and drivers of long-term sustainability in agriculture, delivering delicious dairy that benefits both consumers and the planet.
