Subway® has revealed a new vegetarian Sub that’s also suitable for those on a plant-based diet, which launches nationwide on 10th January.

The Plant Picante features a spiced plant patty topped with crispy onions, plus Sweet Onion and Garlic & Herbs sauces and American-style cheese – or swap this for Vegan Cheeze for a 100% plant-based option, along with lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, and peppers.

The new Sub is part of the Signature Series menu, and available as a 6-inch or Footlong on any of Subway’s bread options, or as a wrap or salad.

Subway has a range of vegan bread options, and the Garlic & Herbs, Sweet Onion and Teriyaki sauces are also suitable for plant-based diets.

Subway already has a selection of tasty plant-based options on the menu, including the Veggie Delite (when ordered with Vegan CheeZe), Crinkle Wedges and the famous Vegan Double Choc Cookie.

Rusty Warren, senior NPD and product innovation manager, at Subway®, said: “We’re excited to be launching the Plant Picante this January, which like all our Subs is fully customisable to your taste and adds to the range of vegetarian and plant-based options that we have at Subway. For a vibrant and flavourful option during Veganuary, why not give it a try with our Vegan Cheeze and our legendary Vegan Double Choc Cookie for a fully plant-based meal.”
