Chaiiwala,East Midland’s number one retail destination, Victoria Centre, is set to strengthen its food and beverage line-up with the arrival of Chaiiwala, the UK’s leading Indian street food and café brand, which will open its latest UK location in the first quarter of 2026.

With an existing high-street location and drive-thru in the city, the opening marks Chaiiwala’s third store in Nottingham and will serve as Chaiiwala’s first shopping centre location in the city, offering the Victoria Centre’s 20 million annual visitors a convenient and affordable destination for flavourful meals throughout the day.

Located on the lower mall, Chaiiwala will occupy an 888 sq. ft unit, serving authentic and carefully brewed Karak chaii alongside an its extensive and street food-style menu bursting with traditional Indian flavours. This includes egg roti wraps served in the morning, Bombay Bowls and Wala Wraps all day, as well as a compelling sweet treat and dessert offering in the evening. To date, Chaiiwala has served more than 100m+ cups of its world-class Karak chaii around the globe.

The sit-in format has been designed to appeal to the destination’s vast catchment of 1.5 million students1, local residents and city-centre workers looking for high quality food and beverage.

The new store, which is operated by Splendid Hospitality, forms part of Chaiiwala’s expansion strategy. Over the coming years, it is aiming to scale up to 500 global locations over the next 10 years, with a pipeline of new openings planned for 2026.

Rebecca Milnes-James, asset manager at Pradera Lateral, commented: “Welcoming Chaiiwala to Victoria Centre marks an exciting step forward in the continued evolution of our food and beverage offer. Their decision to introduce a new café within this destination reflects both the strength of our location and the confidence brands have in Nottingham as a growth market. We’re pleased to be supporting Chaiiwala as they expand their presence in the city.”

Sohail Ali, co-founder of Chaiiwala, said: “With our new location at the Victoria Centre, we will have a strong and diversified footprint in Nottingham that can act as a blueprint for our continued growth across the UK. This will offer the local community and tourists a convenient and affordable destination for on-the-go meals or a place to catch-up with friends and family alongside a day’s shopping. We look forward to opening our doors and seeing customers in-store very soon.

Nadeem Boghani, executive chairman of Splendid Hospitality Group, said: “We are delighted to be opening a new flagship Chaiiwala store in Victoria Centre. At Splendid, we are always looking for opportunities to collaborate with dynamic partners who share our passion for hospitality, quality, and innovation.

Launching our first three Chaiiwala restaurants in Nottingham marks the beginning of an exciting journey, and we look to developing this vibrant, community-focused concept.”

The opening follows the strategic investment to enhance Victoria Centre’s F&B mix, with the addition of new brand partners designed to strengthen its position as Nottingham’s central destination for retail, dining and community connection.

Victoria Centre, owned by SGS UK Retail, is asset managed by Pradera Lateral.
