WUKA – Pioneers, taboo-breakers and makers of the UK’s #1 reusable period apparel – continues to push boundaries with the launch of yet another world-first, offering leak and odour protection against pee and light leaks for 15.5 million menopausal women* in the UK. Research from GenM (the menopause partner for brands such as Boots, Next and Holland & Barrett) reveals:

  • 87% of menopausal women feel overlooked by society and brands
  • 97% of menopausal women believe brands should work harder to cater for the menopause
  • 91% of menopausal women say they never seen specific advertising or marketing for menopause products

WUKA CEO and Founder Ruby Raut says, “With 50% of menopausal women experiencing urinary incontinence, it’s safe to say it is not a minor issue, or an embarrassing ‘secret’ of few that should be shrouded in shame or ignored any longer. As new members of the GenM Collective, WUKA have pledged to feature the world’s first ‘menopause-friendly’, ‘M-tick’ logo on product packaging to better support, inform and empower countless menopausal women and revolutionise their shopping experience.”

NEW WUKA DryTech™ Collection – all day light leak and odour protection.

  • Completely replace disposables – Made from recycled nylon and designed to be worn for up to 54 washes, one pair replaces 200 disposables in its lifetime.
  • Sell Out Ready, Eye-Catching Packaging – Designed to disrupt the traditional plastic heavy, ‘discreet’ aisle. Available in a re-sealable pouch made from biodegradable materials, proudly featuring the M-Tick speaking directly to 15M+ menopausal women.
  • Profitability – Made with WUKA’s Stretch™ garment technology engineered to expand up to four sizes – from XS to L and XL to 4XL. Two products fit up to eight sizes – reaching more customers with less shelf space.
  • Reduced Returns & Waste- The rise of ‘bracketing’ in recent years sees customers purchase multiple sizes to try at home with the intention of returning items that don’t fit. Online returns cost UK retailers around £20 billion annually. With the four-size framework working on body inclusivity, consumers have greater confidence in selecting their perfect size.
