DBT are hosting a two-day meet the buyer programme in the heart of London.

230+ food and drink companies from across the whole UK will attend, showing the quality and innovation our exporters have to offer.

These businesses will be placed in front of 61 international buyers from Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and the Americas.

The programme is expected to deliver over 1000 face-to-face meetings and buyer/seller interactions, styled as “speed dating” products pitches.

There will also be an opportunity for businesses to engage with the three sponsors of the event, Alibaba, RM Boulanger and Unsworth, all companies that facilitate exporting and delivering on international contracts.

This event looks to create tangible export wins, driving forward progress towards achieving the “Race to a trillion” goal.

Business and Trade Minister Kevin Hollinrake said: “The UK is home to world-class food and drink. It is brilliant to see so many great exporters join this networking event with buyers from all corners of the globe to help businesses sell their products made here in the UK to the world.

“We are proud of our great British exporters, and this government’s support for exporters and new Free Trade Agreements with more than 70 countries means businesses can benefit from exciting new opportunities across the world.”

Ian Wright CBE, co-chair of the Food and Drink Export Council, said: “Growing the food and drink sector is key to growing the UK economy. This event is a brilliant way to facilitate trade between our excellent British food and drink exporters and international customers. It has a great turnout of buyers from around the world and gives them the chance to see the wonderful best the UK has to offer.”
