Tootoomoo’s Teriyaki Bento Box hits Sainsbury’s nationwide

Tootoomoo’s Teriyaki Bento BoxFollowing its successful pan-Asian food-to-go launch in Sainsbury’s, Tootoomoo is expanding its food-to-go lineup with the launch of its new Teriyaki Chicken Bento Box, rolling out nationwide in November 2026.

The new addition builds on the brand’s growing retail presence across the UK grocery sector, strengthening its position in Sainsbury’s as consumer demand for premium, authentic pan-Asian lunch options continues to rise. The expansion builds on Tootoomoo’s 14-year heritage in North London, where it has established a strong reputation for audacious, flavour-packed cooking across its North London restaurant dining and takeaway locations in Islington, Crouch End, and Whetstone.

Designed as a complete, vibrant Japanese-inspired meal solution for busy food-to-go shoppers, the Teriyaki Bento Box brings together classic sushi elements into a satisfying, flavour-packed meal. The bento box features four generously filled Chicken Teriyaki California Rolls containing tender chicken glazed in a sweet and savoury teriyaki sauce wrapped in nori, alongside hosumaki sushi rolls with creamy avocado and crisp cucumber. To complement the sushi, Crispy Katsu Chicken Bites add a satisfying crunch, while edamame beans and a side of Signature Teriyaki Mayonnaise complete the experience.

A feast for the senses, the Teriyaki Chicken Bento Box proves that sushi can be just as exciting in a takeaway box as it is on the streets of Tokyo. The launch comes as Tootoomoo continues to build strong momentum in the retail aisle, following the success of its Miso Chicken Sando, which took home the prestigious New Sandwich Award in the cold category at The Sammies in May 2026. The award-winning sando highlights the brand’s rapid momentum and proven appetite among UK shoppers for authentic, high-quality pan-Asian innovation in the food-to-go aisle.

Philip McGuinness, CEO and Founder of Tootoomoo, commented: “Since making our grocery food-to-go debut with Sainsbury’s, expanding our range with the Teriyaki Bento Box is a natural next step for us. It combines popular classics like California rolls and crispy katsu into a single box – ideal for commuter lunches and on-the-go snacking. We’re excited to continue growing our partnership with Sainsbury’s and delivering authentic pan-Asian dishes to even more customers nationwide.”

The Tootoomoo Teriyaki Chicken Bento Box (RRP £5.50) will be available in the fresh food-to-go section at Sainsbury’s stores nationwide from 2nd November 2026 in the premium Meal Deal.
