Aktar at HomeAktar at Home, the nationwide curry delivery service from 2 Michelin starred chef Aktar Islam, is celebrating a major awards haul after picking up nine Great Taste Awards 2026, including a coveted 3-star award for its Beef Keralan Curry.

Described by the Great Taste judges as “a masterclass in heritage cooking”, the Beef Keralan Curry was among just 2% of products from more than 15,000 entries to receive the competition’s highest accolade – the prestigious 3-star Great Taste Award, reserved for products deemed ‘exquisite’.

The range also secured seven 2-star awards, awarded to products deemed ‘outstanding’, for its Murgh Makhni, Chicken Jalfrezi, Chicken Madras, Gosht Sagwala, Dhaba Gosht, Rogan Josh and Prawn Pathia. Its Gobhi Mattar also picked up a 1-star Great Taste Award, bringing the total number of accolades for Aktar at Home to nine.

Judged by the Guild of Fine Food’s expert judging panel, the Great Taste Awards are one of the world’s most respected food and drink accreditation schemes, with every entry put through a rigorous blind judging process.

The impressive results are a major endorsement of Aktar at Home’s mission to bring authentic Indian home cooking to households across the UK. Created using traditional cooking methods, the range delivers the depth and complexity of home-style curries without the heavy oils, ghee and additives often associated with restaurant curries.

Freezer-friendly and fuss-free, most dishes can be ready in minutes on the hob, while oven-finished dishes take no more than 20 minutes. With meat, plant-based and vegetarian options available, Aktar at Home makes it easy to enjoy award-winning Indian cooking at home – whether it’s a midweek dinner, date night or special celebration.

Aktar at Home was created in 2020, when Aktar’s restaurants were forced to close during the Covid-19 pandemic. What began as a response to unprecedented circumstances quickly evolved into a nationwide food delivery business, driven by huge demand from customers across the UK and rave reviews from food critics.

Alongside growing the business, Aktar and his team have remained committed to supporting local communities and using the proceeds from the business to support good causes. The team provides hundreds of meals each week to local charities and has also provided 6,000 care packages to people across the UK struggling with the cost-of-living crisis. The business is also creating new employment opportunities, with Aktar and his team actively recruiting from inner-city communities with high levels of unemployment, helping people who may face barriers to employment access new opportunities and build careers within the hospitality industry.

John Farrand, managing director, Guild of Fine Food, comments: “Food security is becoming an increasingly pressing issue across the globe, so it feels more pertinent now than at any other time in our thirty-year history to be supporting and promoting independent producers and retailers. Our directory of award recipients is a rich source of data, guiding people from all walks of life to make informed decisions about their food & drink choices. Great Taste is all about celebrating craftmanship and dedication to well-sourced local ingredients and traditional, often simple production methods which is more important now than ever.’
