Asda launches first-to-market ‘Pigs in Blankets’ flavoured cheese for Christmas

This Christmas, Asda is launching first-to-market cheese truckles, made with festive-favourite flavours like ‘Pigs In Blankets’ and ‘Gingerbread’.

AsdaAsda’s cheese truckle range is back by popular demand. Last year, they accounted for 30% of Asda’s total festive cheese sales with customers going wild for the selection, but this year, new novelty flavours are set to steal the limelight.

A new and exciting product in the range is the Pigs In Blankets Flavour Cheddar Truckle (90g/£1.22). With bacon flavoured Cheddar accompanied by sweet Maple Syrup, this must-try truckle combines customers’ love for cheese with innovative tastes they’re willing to explore this festive season.

Another new and iconic addition is the Gingerbread Flavour Cheddar Truckle (180g/£2.48) that taps into Asda’s extensive ‘Gingerbread’ theme for Christmas 2025, seen to be trending across other festive launches in the market. Shaped like a cheeky Gingerbread man, it’s not just pretty on the outside, but combines tasty Cheddar with crystallised ginger and cinnamon for the ultimate festive treat.

Joining the range on the 20th of November will be the Santa’s Christmas Dinner Cheese Truckle Selection (3x100g / £3.57), with not one, but three cheeses in one festive pack. The trio includes Santa’s ‘Mature Cheddar’ truckle, the ‘Christmas Dinner’ flavour truckle with Wensleydale cheese, sweetened dried cranberries and herbs, and the ‘Christmas Pudding’ flavour truckle, with Wensleydale cheese, sweetened dried cranberries, raisins, crystallised ginger, candied orange peel & cinnamon. The trio of cheeses are a playful take on a starter, a main and a pudding at Christmas!

Adding excitement to cheeseboards, and getting guests talking ‘flavours’, the truckles are made for gifting foodies, and come in different shapes, sizes and characters, offering bags of personality with high quality cheeses inside.

Commenting on Asda’s Cheese Truckle range, Matthew Forde, product development manager of Cheese, says: “We love bringing customers innovation within the cheese category at Christmas – because who doesn’t love cheese? Through smaller truckles we can spotlight classic, but also new and novelty flavours that tap into our wider Christmas themes at Asda, like Gingerbread this year. Our truckles prove to be popular year on year, and we know that customers look forward to seeing what’s next!”.

Asda’s whole truckle range, including the new Gingerbread Flavour Cheddar Truckle (180g/£2.48) and the Pigs In Blanket Flavour Cheddar Truckle (90g/£1.22) are available now, in stores and online.

The Santa’s Christmas Dinner Cheese Truckle Selection (3x100g / £3.57) will be available from the 20th of November, in stores and online.
