AsdaAs the colder weather draws in and people opt for home comforts, recent stats show that during the 13 weeks of winter, Brits spend 18 hours a week plonked on the sofa (a whopping 234 hours in total).* More evenings spent at home with family and friends call for delicious, hearty food.

Asda’s new woodfired pizzas, Bistro range gastro pub classic dishes and smoky Bom Bahia curries allow customers to swap the hustle and bustle of restaurant dining to warming at-home meals this winter – starting at just £4.75. With Brits spending up to £53 per meal when eating out*, Asda’s new additions offer a delicious and a cheaper alternative.

Pizza this – four new pizzas

For those who are reminiscing on (an Italian) summer, Asda has launched four NEW, premium, hand-stretched Italian-style woodfired pizzas with sourdough, priced at £4.75 each.

With recognisable Italian style flavour profiles all around, customers can choose from a great selection of toppings, with new Asda Woodfired Italian Style Pizza choices including Margherita (£4.75), Salsiccia Piccante & ‘Nduja (£4.75), Chicken Arrabiata (£4.75) and Prosciutto Funghi (£4.75); a hand-stretched woodfired base with sourdough, topped with a rich tomato sauce made with Italian tomatoes, creamy shaved mozzarella, tender Italian cotto ham, garlic chestnut mushrooms and creamy British mascarpone.

Commenting on the sourdough trend, Kathryn Saveall, Product Development Manager says: “We are so proud to see these pizzas launch on our pizza counters, we hope they will give customers a taste of an authentic restaurant style Italian pizza but without the hefty price tag, my personal favourite is the prosciutto funghi – the mascarpone & garlic roasted mushrooms are just delicious & go so well with the prosciutto cotto!”.

Swap the pub for home – four new dishes

Asda’s Bistro range brings a gastro pub feel with a variety of classic dishes to choose from. Serving two people as part of the meal deal, customers can choose from 29 products in the range, including 4 starters, 13 mains, 7 sides and 5 desserts.

New additional mains to the current Meal Deal offer of one starter, one main, one side and one dessert for £10 includes the Bistro by Asda Sausage and Buttery Mash (£6.00), Lamb Hot Pot (£6.00), Beer Batter Haddock & Mushy Peas (£6.00) and Slow Cooked Gammon Shanks with a Mustard Glaze (£6.00); rich and cured slow cooked pork shanks, served with a sweet blossom honey and wholegrain mustard glaze.

Tasty starter dishes with fun twists include Mac & Cheese with Smokey Ketchup (£4.00) and Cod Fish Cakes with Tartar Sauce (£4.00), with the new Chocolate Caramel Profiteroles (£4.00) being a top option for dessert.

All things spice – four new curries

Asda’s Bom Bahia range is a premium Indian brand renowned for being the home of spice at Asda.

New main dishes in the Bom Bahia range include Chicken Tikka Masala (£5.00), Kashmiri Chicken Korma (£5.00), Garlic Chicken Balti (£5.00) and King Prawn Bhuna (£5.00) curries, offering customers vibrant tastes of India.

Customer reviews online at Asda.com are already saying “Amazing curry, tasty and just like eating out” and “Very tasty and great consistency. Great alternative to ordering a takeaway”.

Customers can choose from a selection of two mains and two sides for £10 in the Bom Bahia Meal Deal, with side dishes including Garlic & Coriander Naan Bread (£3.00), Lamb Samosas (£3.00), Onion Bhajis (£3.00), as well as Chicken Chaat Kachori (£3.00) and Aloo Tikka Bites (£3.00) – all inspired by traditional Asian cuisine.

A cheers to winter!

Customers are in luck as Asda’s Buy 6 Save 25% Offer on wine is back! Perfect for a big night in alongside a well-planned Christmas stock up, customers will find own label favourites and big brand names in the deal. From Asda’s Extra Special Garncha (£6.75) and Extra Special Gavi di Gavi (£10.00) to Villa Maria Sauvignon Blanc (£10.50) and Yellow Tail Jammy Red Roo (£7.00), Asda shoppers can cheers to winter whilst saving big.
