Bertinet Bakery, the award-winning maker of authentic sliced sourdough, has launched its first national brand campaign featuring a giant breakfast in bed experience on London’s Southbank. Based on research that shows 65% of Brits are up before 9am on a Sunday, the brand is aiming to make sourdough part of a slower Sunday ritual, and inspire the nation to make the most of the extra hour as the clocks turn back on 29th October.

Bertinet Bakery – now available at Waitrose and Ocado with its real sliced sourdough loaves and bloomers, has seen a significant 35% increase in sales and 59% increase in distribution points over the last 12 months. The wider campaign will leverage OOH retail media across 14 locations, influencer content and PR to further build the brand’s awareness.

Sophia Halberstam, Senior Marketing Manager at Bertinet Bakery said “Our first national campaign is a stake in the ground for Bertinet Bakery and we can’t wait to spur on the sourdough movement. We recently launched our sourdough half-bloomers and the real Sunday campaign will support consumer discovery of those, and help carve out a frequent occasion for cosumers to try.”

The brand experience will be live On Wednesday 25th October, between 10.30am and 3pm, on London’s iconic Southbank.

The complimentary breakfast menu will include a range of elegant dishes featuring Bertinet Bakery’s half bloomer sourdough loaves, recently launched into Waitrose, the Potato, Polenta & Onion, Rustic Country White and Seven Seeds & Grains.

The brand has worked alongside Sourdough Specialist, Best-Selling Author and Founder of The Sourdough School, Vanessa Kimble – who put her magic touch on the menu, focusing on dishes that compliment and hero the taste and texture of sourdough.

  1. Boiled Eggs with Croque Monsieur Soldiers – a classic breakfast with a twist, creating soldiers using bechamel sauce and grated cheese.
  2. Savoury Masala French Toast – eggy bread with a twist, using onions, chilli and turmeric served with a zingy green chutney.
  3. Avocado toast and sweetcorn salsa – a bright, fresh dish packed full of flavour. A perfect balance of whipped avocado and a hint of spice.
  4. Ultimate open BLT with a twist – fresh bacon added to crisp lettuce and juicy tomatoes, topped with a classic vinaigrette and beetroot hummus.
