Big Yellow Self StorageS
AAmerican ExpressAmerican Express and Big Yellow Self Storage have signed a new agreement meaning Amex is now accepted as a payment method both in-store and online at the UK’s leading self-storage company.

Big Yellow opened its first store in Richmond, London in May 1999 and 26 years later, has grown to a network of 111 stores nationwide, including 23 branded as Armadillo Self Storage. As well as being used by domestic customers, Big Yellow provides a helping hand to many businesses, large and small, by offering flexible and secure storage space.

Under the new agreement, Amex Cardmembers can now pay for storage and packing materials using their Amex Card. Exclusive offers and discounts for spending with Big Yellow will also be available for Cardmembers in the coming weeks.

Big Yellow Self Storage joins a record number of businesses in the UK that recognise the value of welcoming Amex Cardmembers, who are typically higher spending and more loyal than other credit card users, including every major supermarket chain, most high street retailers and hundreds of thousands of small businesses.

Dan Edelman, UK general manager, merchant services at American Express, said: “We are committed to ensuring our Cardmembers can use their Card wherever they live, work and travel. We’re delighted that American Express is now accepted by Big Yellow, a leading player in the fast-growing storage sector. This agreement gives both our Consumer and Business Cardmembers greater flexibility when spending with Big Yellow and further cements our strong merchant coverage nationwide, which has tripled since 2021.”

Sabina Patel-Jhanji, Partnerships UK at Big Yellow Self Storage, added: “Big Yellow Self Storage is the UK’s favourite choice for secure, modern storage, serving homes and businesses across the country with space that is easy to reach and simple to use. Whether someone is moving, downsizing, growing a business or simply needs extra space, our secure stores offer the flexibility and reliable service people can trust. We are pleased to now accept American Express as a form of payment across all 111 of our stores and our online Box Shop, giving even more choice to the people we support every day.”

American Express provides Cardmembers with a range of benefits including cashback, Membership Rewards® points, exclusive Amex Offers from national brands, and more. In the UK, American Express is accepted at more places than ever before, meaning there is a greater choice of businesses where Cardmembers can earn rewards by paying with Amex.
