BOXPARK, the award-winning hospitality and leisure group, has today announced the appointment of Michelle Farrell, the company’s first-ever chief growth officer (CGO). In her new role, Farrell will oversee the sales, events & marketing and commercial functions of the business, aligning with BOXPARK’s commitment to accelerating growth and expanding its UK estate.
With more than 15 years of experience in the hospitality sector, specialising in marketing and sales, Farrell brings a wealth of knowledge to her new role. Most recent appointments include group sales and marketing director at Nightcap Group, owner and operator of 45 premium bars across the UK. As well as several senior positions at leading hospitality businesses such as Stonegate Group and Novus Leisure, acquiring extensive experience in managing large-scale operations and implementing growth strategies.
Farrell joins the team during a time of significant momentum for the business, following the highly successful launch of its new premium food hall concept, BOXHALL City, which is rapidly emerging as a market leader in the sector. With a proven track record for cultivating digital-first teams and growing pre-booked revenue, she will help to further drive growth for the new venture, alongside all sites across the UK.
Matt Snell, BOXPARK CEO, said: “We are delighted to be introducing Michelle to the team, and looking forward to leveraging her experience and expertise as we grow as a business. This is an exciting time for the business, marking our first appointment of a Chief Growth Officer, and we are confident that she will play a key role in shaping the future of BOXPARK.”
Commenting on her appointment, Farrell added: “I’m absolutely delighted to be joining the team at BOXPARK at such a pivotal and exciting time for the business. Stepping into this new role is a brilliant opportunity, and I’m looking forward to spearheading the ambitious growth strategy and building on BOXPARK’s iconic status. I can’t wait to get started”.
This appointment comes shortly after some big changes to the BOXPARK senior team, following the appointment of new CEO, Matt Snell in March, and new CFO, Chris Burford in January. This year, BOXPARK also launched their new immersive social gaming experience, PLAYBOX, based at their Croydon site. Following from this debut to the competitive socialising space, the business has exciting plans for even greater expansion in the years ahead.
