Creative agency BrandMe, is delighted to celebrate 130 years of Thompson’s Tea with the launch of a special, limited edition Punjana anniversary pack, created to honour one of Northern Ireland’s most well-loved brands and the generations of loyal consumers who have made it part of everyday life.
Developed in close partnership with Thompson’s, the limited edition Punjana packs celebrate the brand’s 130th year with a premium, celebratory look that elevates the brand’s distinctive assets while staying true to the identity Northern Irish shoppers know and trust.
Inspired by the strong sense of local pride shared by Punjana drinkers and the brand’s rich heritage within Northern Irish culture, the design demonstrates the enduring connection between the brand and the community that has supported it for over a century.
The anniversary identity realises this story through a considered blend of subtle regional references and bold, premium finishes to deliver distinction and collectability alongside immediate standout on crowded supermarket shelves.
Clean, contemporary illustrations of familiar Northern Irish landmarks are woven into the background of the pack, adding a refined sense of place without competing with the brand’s instantly recognisable identity.
Metallic gold detailing across the anniversary lock-up, typography and linework offers a premium finish, signalling the significant milestone while complementing the brand’s signature red colour palette. The result is a collectible design that feels celebratory and distinctive.
By balancing heritage with contemporary design, the limited edition packs convey the story of 130 years of craftsmanship, community and loyalty, reinforcing the brand’s strong presence on shelf and in the heart of Northern Irish homes.
BrandMe designer, Georgia Howell shares: “This limited edition had to feel celebratory whilst also honouring the rich history of Punjana within Belfast and Northern Ireland. The use of gold throughout, paired with the bespoke, graphic illustrations of local landmarks brings both of those things to life. It wraps around all four sides of the pack to tell the story, whilst staying true to the Punjana that Thompson’s customers know and love.”
