Clothing retailer Joe Browns sees MHR’s People First as the perfect fit

Joe Browns, a Yorkshire-based clothing retailer, has partnered with HR, payroll and finance specialist, MHR, to streamline its HR processes through its People First solution.

Joe Browns was established in 1998 and focuses on offering its customers timeless, vibrant clothing that speaks to people’s individualised, unique fashion styles. The company of 160 employees is growing at a fast pace and is seeking to increase the number of employees to more than 300 people within the next five years.

However, with its incumbent HR system delivering a poor user experience for the team, and limited reporting capabilities for HR, Joe Browns needed an HR solution with the flexibility to cope as the company grows.

The retail company selected People First for its flexibility and functionality, and the partnership with MHR will enable it to automate key HR processes, improving data visibility and reporting for its HR team.

Sophie Metcalf, head of HR at Joe Browns, said: “Given our goal to double our team at Joe Browns, we knew our existing HR solution was not up to the task. After trialling People First and being impressed with its functionality and capabilities, it was obvious that we’d found exactly what we were looking for and we decided to sign a partnership with MHR. We are looking forward to working together as we integrate People First into the business and develop our partnership over the next five years.”

Anton Roe, CEO at MHR, said: “The key HR concern for Joe Browns was to replace a difficult-to-navigate system with something that could offer a consumer-grade user experience for its team members when booking annual leave, following internal company news and more. People First presented the ideal solution, giving Joe Browns the capabilities it was looking for from an HR system as well as the flexibility to adapt in line with their growing team.
