Co-op in North Yorkshire town of Haxby re-launches following major makeover

Haxby Co-op re-opens its doors to the community (Thursday, 30 April) following a three-month investment programme to ‘transform’ the store.

Located in Ryedale Court, Haxby, the store relaunches with a fresh new look and range to enhance the shopping experience for the community, with opening hours now extended to 7am-10pm, seven days a week.

New refrigeration cuts energy consumption and supports Co-op’s carbon reduction goals,  while enhancing the range and choice of fresh and chilled products. An in-store bakery and Costa Coffee Express are available, alongside Co-op’s meal deals and food to go; Fairtrade products; ready meals and meal ideas – including its new Mexican-inspired ‘Served’ range – #pizzas; fresh meats and dairy; chilled beers and wines, fresh flowers and, everyday essentials.

Parcel collection services are available in-store via Amazon and DPD.

The online home delivery of groceries is available via Deliveroo, Just Eat and Co-op’s own online shop – shop.coop.co.uk – with Uber Eats coming soon. Orders are picked fresh in the local store and delivered quickly and conveniently in the local community.

Payment services are available via PayPoint.

There are offers, deals and promotions – including Co-op Irresistible pizza and a tub of Häagen-Dazs ice cream for just £5 for Members – throughout the store.

Member price savings create additional value for Co-op members who can save more with lower prices on the essential products shoppers buy most.

Josephine Turnbull, Co-op area manager, said: “We’re delighted to invest in Haxby, and proud to be part of local community life. Co-op is committed to backing high streets and communities, and we work to ensure our stores are a hub locally. We have a focus on offering quality products, value and choice that can be enjoyed by everyone alongside added services including Costa Coffee, parcel collections; payment services; quick online home delivery and more. The store has been transformed, and the whole team is really looking forward to welcoming our members and customers back into the store now works are concluded – we’re here to serve and support the community, conveniently.”

Co-op is committed to backing British agriculture, with all of its own fresh and frozen meat 100% British – including in its pies, sandwiches and ready meals.

Soft plastic recycling is available in store – making it easier for shoppers to return and recycle materials that are often not universally accepted via household kerbside recycling, such as crisp packets and bread bags, lids from ready meals, biscuit wrappers and, pet food pouches.
