Currys is proud to announce its commitment to supporting the British Red Cross Disaster Fund. Building on their already established relationship, the support will provide critical help globally to those who need it most.

This ongoing donation will help the British Red Cross respond quickly to humanitarian crises around the world, such as conflict, natural disasters, extreme weather and climate emergencies. They deliver vital support including food, water, shelter and sanitation to people affected by disasters, and when the immediate danger has passed, they help communities to rebuild, recover and become more resilient.

In 2023, the Disaster Fund supported over 800,000 people in 78 countries. According to the British Red Cross, aid reaches those affected by the crises which hit the headlines, as well as those that go unreported. All around the world, the Disaster Fund has helped the British Red Cross be there for people in crisis.

Paula Coughlan, chief people, communications and sustainability officer at Currys, commented: “We’re supporting the British Red Cross to respond to disasters as soon as possible, and helping to ensure they have immediate funds in place to do this. We’ve supported them previously, and they’ve got all the expertise, passion and infrastructure to respond to emerging disasters and crises. This new, ongoing support will help us forge a deeper and more enduring relationship with the Red Cross and will help to make a real difference for people facing disaster and crises all over the world.”

Liz Alleston, head of corporate partnerships at the British Red Cross, commented: “We’re so grateful to have Currys onboard in supporting our Disaster Fund. When people are going through crisis, the British Red Cross is there for them. Together, we truly are the world’s emergency responders. On behalf of the British Red Cross and all the people your kindness has reached, thank you for supporting the Disaster Fund.”
