Decathlon partners with Freeletics to add products to its fitness coaching

DecathlonDECATHLON, the world leader in sports, has partnered with Freeletics, one of the most widely used fitness apps in Europe, to offer a unique training solution. By combining equipment and AI-generated coaching, this partnership provides users with a seamless, accessible, and ultra-personalized experience.

A partnership that revolutionizes the fitness experience

DECATHLON teams identified a major problem: nearly 70% of users of their fitness equipment don’t know how to use it properly or integrate it effectively into their routine. As a result, nearly 50% reduce or abandon their training after just three months.

To address this challenge, Freeletics proves to be the ideal partner with:

  • A presence in 175 countries;
  • 59 million users since the app’s launch;
  • AI-powered coaching generating over one billion exercise combinations;
  • Routines combining performance and well-being.

“Many abandon fitness due to a lack of guidance or motivation. With this partnership, we are breaking down these barriers: ultra-personalized coaching, accessible anywhere, anytime, and with the right equipment,” says Daniel Sobhani, CEO of Freeletics.

By partnering, Decathlon and Freeletics combine the best of fitness equipment and personalized training coaching to offer a tailored program that helps users stay motivated and focused on their goals.

“This partnership marks a decisive step in our commitment to enrich our customers’ experience. With DECATHLON and Freeletics, we are combining our deep fitness expertise to ensure every user feels supported with their product. We share the same mission: to encourage everyone to move, explore the potential of sport, and experience its benefits. This partnership is also part of a strong sustainable approach: strategically, by tackling this key challenge, we are empowering our customers to maximize their product value and effectively meet their objectives” says Céline Del Genes, chief customer experience at DECATHLON. A combination of products and coaching to address the challenges of athletes

In DECATHLON stores and online, DECATHLON x Freeletics branded equipment will be available. When purchasing a product featuring this offer, users will benefit from:

  • Either 3 months of free subscription starting April 2025
  • Or a 50% discount on the annual Freeletics subscription starting Summer 2025*

The pack of 3 training bands will be the first product available, starting April 7, 2025. By the end of 2026, more than 100 fitness products will benefit from this equipment and coaching offer.

A long-term vision for connected fitness practice

This partnership with Freeletics, contracted for the next five years, is part of a strong ambition: to make fitness accessible, connected, and personalized.

It will allow both brands to better understand users’ needs. Freeletics will be able to adapt its training to the equipment purchased at DECATHLON. And DECATHLON will fine-tune its product offering to meet the real needs of practitioners. In addition to strength training and cross-training, the goal is to expand the range of sports practices in product offerings and coaching, including yoga, Pilates, cardio-boxing, and nutrition advice.

With DECATHLON and Freeletics, fitness is no longer limited to equipment: it becomes a tailored, connected, and engaging experience.
