Dell’Ugo, the hugely popular premium UK based fresh pasta company, has collaborated with plant-based food company THIS™ to create two plant-based filled Ravioli lines, available on the Dell’Ugo website ( www.dellugo.co.uk) and Morrisons from 2nd October 2024.
The Dell’Ugo THIS™ Isn’t Bacon & Cheese Ravioli features THIS™ Isn’t plant based bacon lardons; and Dell’Ugo THIS Isn’t Chicken & Pesto Ravioli features the popular THIS Isn’t chicken pieces, delivering outstanding vegan meat alternative products for consumers.
Demand for meat-free products is skyrocketing in the UK. There are around 2.5 million vegans in the UK (4.7% of the population), which increased by 1.1million between 2023 and 2024. The one thing consumers want are products that have all their values and taste as good as the real thing.
Sophia Cooke, CEO of Dell’Ugo, commented: “We teamed up with the leading alternative meat brand THIS™ after watching consumers taste their products at a festival…They couldn’t believe the products were plant-based, they were that good! Combined with our amazing fresh pasta parcels, crafted using only the finest semolina for the Altamura region in Italy, it’s a match made in heaven and delivers the first ever vegan fresh filled pasta that tastes like meat.”
Xander Fletcher, out of home controller at THIS™, said: “We’re ecstatic about this partnership with leading pasta brand Dell’Ugo, not least because they’ve been absolutely incredible to work with and are true masters of their craft, but also because the final products taste sublime and prove that you can easily switch out meat and not compromise on flavour. These are going to fly off the shelves so fingers crossed we can work on more exciting products with the Ugo family.
Dell’Ugo offers a range of Italian Vegan products spanning pasta, gnocchi, bread and sauce lines, but this is our first plant-based meat alternative range so consumers wanting the delivery of a meat based ravioli whilst either reducing or removing meat within their diets can still have an option.
Cooke added: “fresh filled pasta is so quick and easy to cook, ready in 3 minutes which is perfect for that easy mid-week meal and the packaging like all of Dell’Ugo fresh pasta is totally recyclable.”
