Drinks By The Dram unveils £10k advent calendar 2025 featuring ultra-rare whiskies

Drinks By The DramDrinks by the Dram, part of Atom Brands, has launched The Very Old & Rare Whisky Collection 2025, a £9,995 advent calendar showcasing 24 exceptionally scarce whiskies, many of which are now impossible to acquire, even at auction.

Designed for collectors and serious enthusiasts, the release features drams from world-renowned producers including Karuizawa, Port Ellen, The Macallan, Highland Park, and Yamazaki. Each 30ml sample has been individually wax-sealed by hand.

The whiskies are presented in a bespoke black oak and walnut cabinet, handcrafted by British master craftsman Simon Jewell. The design, inspired by antique apothecary chests, includes suede linings, a drawer containing detailed tasting notes, a personal letter from Dr Sam Simmons, Head of Whisky at Master of Malt, and two Riedel glasses.

“We have gathered whiskies so rare the warehouse cat has never seen them.” says Dr Sam Simmons. “We had a lot of fun curating this cabinet which is in itself a time capsule and a tribute to whisky’s story.  Highlights include A 40-year-old Balvenie, liquid gems from lost distilleries including Port Ellen and Karuizawa  and ancient examples of Macallan, Glenglassaugh Bowmore, Auchentoshan and Glenrothes. It is a once-in-a-lifetime tasting journey that will make this Christmas one to remember.”

Among the 24 drams are exceptional expressions including the Balvenie 40 Year Old, Glenfarclas 1958 cask 2061 of which just 130 bottles were ever released, Karuizawa Five Decades, Glenfarclas 60 Year Old, and the legendary Yamazaki Sherry Cask 2012. The result is a line-up that even seasoned collectors would find hard to assemble. See notes to editors for full list of drams

The cabinet itself is finished with black oak inlaid with a tree-ring motif, walnut shelving, engraved stainless steel detailing, a leather carry handle, and a moleskin dust cover.

The Very Old & Rare Whisky Collection is available from Master of Malt, priced at £9,995, and forms part of Drinks by the Dram’s 2025 advent portfolio which also includes the Old & Rare Advent Calendar  (£799.95) featuring drams from Caperdonich, Dalmore, and Clynelish and the Premium Whisky Advent Calendar (£199.95) offering top-shelf whiskies from leading distilleries. The broader collection spans spiced rum, gin, and World Whisky, with prices starting from £49.95.

The Very Old & Rare Whisky Collection is available from Master of Malt, priced at £9,995.
