Eden Mill has launched Summer in St Andrews, a limited edition coastal Scottish gin inspired by the flavours of the distillery’s hometown during the sunny months. Bright lemon leads, sharp and clean, before heady rhubarb rolls in with a soft tartness that lingers, rounded off with local raspberries and strawberries.
Bottled at 40% ABV, the gin is designed for long afternoons by the sea: poured long with tonic and a lemon wheel, or spritzed up with soda, prosecco and lemon for a sunnier serve.
Summer in St Andrews is available now at the Eden Mill distillery shop, online at edenmill.com, and through selected trade partners. Priced at £32 for a 70cl bottle. Just 500 bottles have been produced.
Hamish Maclean, senior brand manager at Eden Mill, said: “Summer in St Andrews is an ode to our hometown in the sun. It’s a gin for garden parties and beach picnics, that can be enjoyed with tonic, lemonade, prosecco or whatever you so choose.
“Local raspberries and strawberries from Tarvit Farm in Cupar are bolstered by heady rhubarb and a sharp kick of lemon. There’re just 500 bottles, so – like the Scottish summer – it will be gone before you know it!”
The launch will be celebrated at the distillery during Afternoon Tea Week (10 to 16 August) with a Summer Gin Afternoon Tea service on offer throughout the month of August. Built to hero the new gin, the cakes and preserves will be paired to its tasting notes and a signature Bramble serve will be poured tableside from a teapot. Tickets are £35 per person and will be available via edenmill.com.
