Gosh! secures B Corp CeritficationPlant-based food brand, Gosh!, has officially announced its certification as a B Corp following a rigorous certification process. It achieved an outstanding score of 103.5, which is significantly above the first-time certification average, and joins only a select few plant-based brands to hold this status. The certification reflects Gosh!’s exceptional commitment to, and impact on nutrition, sustainability, and community.

Since its beginning, Gosh! has been committed to providing delicious plant-based food that’s healthy for people whilst also being kind to the planet. To meet all the performance, legal and transparency requirements needed for a B Corp, Gosh! focused on transparency in its products and packaging, improving sustainability efforts across both people and processes, and engaging with like-minded businesses to amplify its impact.

The certification is a significant step in Gosh!’s wider sustainability strategy, which is built around four key pillars:

  1. Positive nourishment by changing the way people eat for good and spreading awareness of the benefits of veg

  2. Protecting Mother Nature – by lowering the impact of its operations; packaging and sourcing, and promoting ethical trading practices

  3. Showing passion for its people through training and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) policies and aiming to become one of the top places to work in the UK

  4. Caring for its communities through its work with The Felix Project and volunteering, and becoming known as a force for good

Gosh! will continue to build upon its sustainability strategy, with goals including reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 50% by 2030, and donating 1% of revenues to The Felix Project. Consumers will be able to see Gosh!’s new B Corp status across its packaging, giving consumers clear confidence in the brand’s social and environmental impact.

In line with their B Corp accreditation, Gosh! have also secured the Resource Conservation Impact Business Model (IBM), a recognition given to companies intentionally designed to create positive environmental outcomes. This is a difficult credit to achieve and highlights how Gosh!’s product uses resources and minimises carbon more efficiently than market alternatives.

Jason Belmont, managing director at Gosh!, comments: ‘From the very beginning, our purpose has always been to provide delicious plant-based food that’s healthy for people and kind to the planet. The B Corp framework has given us the opportunity to reevaluate and enhance all of our policies and practices, helping us raise our standards and continuously improve across all areas of the business, striving to create a better workplace for everyone. It also shows our customers and other key stakeholders that we prioritise people and the planet, and meet the rigorous standards of social and environmental responsibility.

‘This was a huge effort from everyone across the business. Our team spent a lot of time prioritising improvement initiatives and making sure a focus on sustainability was embedded into our day-to-day activities. Becoming a certified B Corp is not the end of the journey, and we will continue to look at ways of improving our people and sustainability policies year after year to achieve our ongoing goals.’
