Iceland Foods is set to open a new store in Guernsey town centre

Iceland Foods is set to open a brand-new store in Guernsey’s town centre this September in partnership with Alliance, marking another step forward in the retailer’s expansion across the Channel Islands.

Located at Rectory House in Market Square, St Peter Port, the new store will be Iceland’s first-ever town centre location in Guernsey, designed specifically to meet the needs of local shoppers.

Covering approximately 4,000 sq. ft., the store will offer a broad selection of chilled, frozen, and grocery items. Shoppers can expect 32 freezers stocked with around 450 frozen and 250 chilled lines, including exclusive brands such as Greggs, TGI Fridays, MyProtein, Cathedral City, and Harry Ramsden’s. A local bakery and food-to-go area will also feature, providing added convenience for those shopping in the town centre.

The opening will be Alliance’s second Iceland store on the island, following the successful launch of The Food Warehouse at Braye Road earlier this year – the first store of its kind outside the UK.

The new site is also expected to bring around 10 new jobs to the island, from customer assistant positions through to store management roles.

Justin Addison, international and partnerships director at Iceland Foods, said: “We’re delighted to be bringing Iceland to the heart of Guernsey town centre. This new store not only strengthens our partnership with Alliance but also makes it even easier for customers on the island to access our exclusive products and great value range.

“Importantly, this opening will create a range of new local jobs – helping to support the community while expanding our presence in the Channel Islands.”

Keiran Poole, operations director at Alliance, said: “We’re pleased to be opening a second Iceland location in Guernsey, this time right in the centre of St Peter Port. The new store has been designed with town centre shoppers in mind – offering a wide choice of frozen, chilled and grocery lines, alongside a local bakery and food-to-go selection.

“We’re also growing our team on the island with a number of new roles, and we look forward to welcoming customers to the store later this summer.”

This latest opening builds on the success of Iceland’s franchise partnership with Alliance – an independent retailer based in Jersey and Guernsey – and reinforces the brand’s long-term commitment to the Channel Islands.
