Kallø, the natural food pioneer in healthier snacks and organic stocks, is launching a new flavour of its award-winning Veggie Cakes.
Sweet Chilli Veggie Cakes are the sixth addition to the popular range, joining Sea Salt & Cider Vinegar, Thai Curry and best-selling Beetroot & Balsamic.
With a bold fusion of sweet and a lot of heat, the new veggie cakes are designed to deliver a healthier alternative to crisps without compromising on taste and flavour.
Made from lentil and peas, Sweet Chilli Veggie Cakes are high in protein and fibre, occurring from natural sources. They are suitable for gluten-free, vegetarians and vegans and contain just 38 calories per cake.
The products are initially launching into Ocado and Morrisons this October, as well as Waitrose and Tesco (£2.75 RRP).
Charlea Price, Kallø brand controller at Ecotone UK, said: “The snacking landscape is changing and we’re in an era where natural ingredients and minimal processing are of increasing importance to consumers. While snacking is in decline, health-conscious consumers are the most frequent snackers1. We’re excited to bring them an iconic and beloved crisp flavour in a healthier, high-benefit format: a blueprint that proved hugely successful for our best-selling Beetroot & Balsamic flavour.
“We’re excited to extend our innovative range with a flavour that draws on key trends such as sweet and spicy, or ‘swicy’ and rising popularity in Asian cuisine.”
Veggie Cakes offer versatility and ease-of-use across snacking and mealtimes. They can be enjoyed on their own or topped, dipped, and crumbled into salads or curries.
The range has proved hugely popular for the brand, now worth £6.6M and growing at +40.2% year on year2, with penetration also growing at +26.3%3 annually.
