Nespresso UK announces opening of first on-the-go coffee concept, The Nespresso Bar

The Nespresso BarNespresso UK has entered the on-the-go coffee market with the launch of a new coffee shop concept titled ‘The Nespresso Bar’ at a location close to Liverpool Street station in central London.

The location has been carefully selected for Nespresso’s first entry into the on-the-go coffee market, positioned in the UK’s busiest commuter hub. The capital’s coffee culture continues to flourish, with coffee officially overtaking tea as the nation’s favourite drink in 2023.

This is a strategic move for Nespresso, which currently offers consumers two at-home portioned coffee systems, Vertuo and Original. With 80% of coffee drinkers visiting a coffee shop at least once a week in the UK, and over 12.8 billion cups of coffee consumed outside the home last year. The Nespresso Bar is a new way for coffee lovers to engage with the brand.

At The Nespresso Bar, commuters and locals alike will be able to enjoy Nespresso’s most exceptional blends, bringing the taste of their favourite coffees outside of the comfort of their homes.

These iconic Nespresso blends can be enjoyed in a variety of hot and cold formats, including latte, cappuccino and americano.

The Nespresso Bar is designed to build connections with the community living and working in, or simply passing through, London’s most iconic business district. It provides a moment to enjoy an elevated coffee experience, crafted to individual preferences on servings and taste. A feature community board will provide a backdrop of the latest events and opportunities in the area.

The new format will also support Nespresso’s ethos of supporting communities, with a dedicated board highlighting the brilliant and best upcoming activities, events, and initiatives in one of London’s community epicentres.

Anna Lundstrom, CEO at Nespresso UK & ROI, said: “The on-the-go coffee experience is now an intrinsic part of the UK community, with 11 million of us visiting coffee shops across the country every day. The Nespresso Bar represents an exciting opportunity to reach new customers in a new way; with an elevated customer experience combined with the joy of coffee discovery.”

The Nespresso Bar operates with a Nespresso Professional set-up, delivering unmatched in-cup quality cup after cup with an Agulia 440, equipped for up to 400 coffees per hour. Nespresso Professional is also the coffee of choice for thousands of businesses across the UK – from FTSE 100 offices to Michelin star restaurants and some of the country’s top hotels.
