Newly launched in the UK, Sake ONO blends Japanese brewing traditions with a forward-thinking, modern approach

Sake ONONewly launched in the UK, Sake ONO is a premium sake brand that blends centuries-old Japanese brewing traditions with a forward-thinking, modern approach. Its inaugural expression, a Junmai Daiginjo, showcases the elegance and purity of finely crafted sake while opening the door to new possibilities in how it can be enjoyed. Whether sipped neat, paired thoughtfully with food, or stirred into lower-ABV cocktails, Sake ONO invites a new generation of drinkers to explore sake with curiosity and confidence. Designed to resonate with both purists and the Sake-curious, the brand represents a fresh chapter in the global appreciation of this unique category.

Sake ONO’s flagship Junmai Daiginjo is an irresistible blend of honeydew, lemon peel, white floral, and green apple notes, underpinned by delicate umami undertones. This highest grade of Sake is meticulously brewed with four premium ingredients—rice, yeast, water, and koji—all sourced locally from Niigata, Japan. The result is a Sake that is as smooth as it is versatile, with a crisp, clean finish that elevates everything from fresh oysters and beef tartare to classic and contemporary cocktails.

“We believe Sake deserves a new chapter, one where it is celebrated beyond its traditional context,” says Lana Buchanan, CEO of Sake ONO. “We’re here to show that Sake can be as sophisticated and versatile as any wine or spirit, whether served chilled in a wine glass or mixed into a low-ABV version of a classic cocktail. We love surprising people with how well Sake pairs with unexpected dishes like tartare or oysters, but also with inventive options like truffle risotto, grilled peaches, or aged cheeses.”

The super premium Sake category is expected to experience double digit growth for the next 3-5 years with consumers gravitating to the Japanese craft, clean ingredients and lighter profile. With the launch of Sake ONO in the UK, the brand is partnering with top tier accounts such as Gordon Ramsey’s Lucky Cat, Coya and Mandarin Oriental to create new experiences for British consumers and challenge perceptions of Sake through innovative serves and surprising pairings.

Try out Sake ONO today! It’s best enjoyed as our signature serve, chilled in a wine glass to highlight its bright, crisp profile or for those seeking a low-ABV twist on classic cocktails, Sake ONO’s versatility shines in creations like the ONO Vesper and the ONO Daiquiri that have been developed in collaboration with renowned mixologists.
