London’s pizza lovers, get ready! 081 Pizzeria, one of the city’s favourite Neapolitan pizza joints and voted 50 Top Pizzas in Europe, is launching its biggest restaurant yet in the heart of Shoreditch this March. Known for its airy, pillowy crusts and bold toppings, 081 Pizzeria has gained a cult following for its fresh take on Naples’ legendary pizza culture—and now, it’s stepping things up a notch.
To celebrate its grand opening on Friday 4th April, 081 Pizzeria is giving away free pizzas to the first 81 customers each day from Friday to Sunday (April 4th-6th). That’s right—three days of free pizza to mark the occasion in true Neapolitan style. On top of that, diners can get 25% off all food for the whole of April*!
081 Pizzeria was founded by Naples-born Andrea Asciuti, who made a name for himself co-founding Bravi Ragazzi in Streatham before launching 081 as a series of pop-ups in 2021. After opening his first bricks-and-mortar restaurant in Peckham in 2023, demand for Asciuti’s expertly crafted 72-hour fermented dough pizzas skyrocketed. Now, Shoreditch is set to be the next destination for his signature pizzas, made with high-quality ingredients sourced directly from Italy.
So, what’s on the menu? Expect a mix of classic and unexpected flavour combinations, all expertly crafted with fresh, seasonal ingredients. Signature pizzas include:
‘Tunarella’, topped with yellow cherry tomatoes, fior di latte mozzarella, red onions, black olive dust, and tuna fillets
‘Meatballs and Ricotta Stuffed Crust’, baked with a cooked tomato sauce base
‘Pulled Genovese’, a rich combination of slow-cooked pulled beef brisket and ribs with a Genovese ragu.
Other highlights on the menu include the ‘Napoli Segreta’, featuring smoky provola, black olives, and piennolo tomatoes, and the ‘Black Truffle and Honey’, with gorgonzola, fresh shaved black truffle, and hazelnut crumble.
Of course, 081 Pizzeria isn’t just about the pizza. The menu also features Napoli-style tapas and a curated selection of Italian wines and cocktails, making it the perfect spot for casual dinners, date nights, and group feasts. Opening to the public on Friday 4th April, the new 2,000-square-foot restaurant, located on Great Eastern Street, will take over the former Iron Bloom events space, transforming it into a modern pizzeria with a bold, street art-inspired aesthetic. The venue will feature 60 dine-in covers with a total capacity of 150 guests, offering a laid-back yet upbeat atmosphere that perfectly blends Naples’ energy with the hustle and bustle of Shoreditch.
