Primark freezes back to school essentials

Primark is freezing prices on hundreds of much-loved kids’ clothing essentials this year, meaning families can continue to shop their Back to School buys at the same low prices as 2021.

This year’s price freezes apply to essential items from head to toe, including jeans, joggers, long-sleeved t-shirts and jackets.

Now, value seekers can pick up a kids’ outfit consisting of a long-sleeved t-shirt, leggings and zip through hoodie for just £8.30.

The price freeze comes as British households continue to feel the pinch, with half (48%) expecting to spend less this year because of the rising costs of everyday products.

Primark is committed to continue to support families to make their money go further with low prices that don’t compromise on quality and kidswear essentials that are designed to go the extra distance.

But it’s not just clothing, Primark is now a Back to School destination with families able to shop everything from shoes to stationery, lunchboxes to backpacks, all under one roof.

In fact, last year its huge range of backpacks, from Disney’s Stitch to Minnie Mouse and Marvel, were a big success, selling almost half a million globally.

Primark is committed to offering families the best value on the high street season after season; earlier this year it lowered hundreds of prices to support families with their summer shopping needs.

Gavin Daniels, drector of kidswear at Primark, said: “We know that buying for your kids never gets easier, as they continue to grow and kids’ clothing really needs to go the extra distance. That’s why we’re locking in great value by freezing our prices which we hope will take away some of the pressures on families’ finances at this time of year.

“Our message to any worried shoppers this year is simple: At Primark, you’re guaranteed great value and style at super-affordable prices, with the added reassurance that our clothes are made to last.”

The new price freezes will apply to selected kids’ clothing available both in store and on its Click & Collect service, which is currently available in 57 stores in England and Wales.

This comes as the retailer announced it will expand the service to all its stores in Great Britain by the end of 2025. Customers can also browse the Primark website and use the stock checker to see whether the style and size is in stock before heading into store.

Examples of the kids’ essentials where price freezes will apply (compared with the same period during Autumn/Winter 2023 and Autumn/Winter 2022) include:

·         Kids leggings starting from £1.80 (£2.00 Autumn/Winter 2022)

·         Kids long sleeved t-shirt starting from £1.80 (£1.80 in Autumn/Winter 2022)
