RAW Charging (“RAW”), the leading electric vehicle (EV) chargepoint operator for the hospitality, leisure and retail sectors, is thrilled to announce the launch of its newest ultra-rapid charging hub at McArthurGlen West Midlands, complete with free charging to celebrate the opening.
The week-long free charging offer marks the start of RAW’s Connecting Amazing Places summer campaign, aimed at making days out easier, more enjoyable and more accessible for EV drivers across the UK.
Highlights
- Free ultra-rapid charging: All EV drivers are welcome to charge at no cost between Monday 21st July – Sunday 28th July
- Fast and accessible: The site features 10 bays, including 2 priority bays, with up to 22kW charging and contactless payment options.
- Destination perks: Located at McArthurGlen West Midlands, visitors can enjoy more than 65 designer shops, plus cafés and restaurants—meaning your car isn’t the only one getting a recharge.
The completion of this site reinforces RAW’s long-term partnership with McArthurGlen Group, which has seen the installation of over 385 EV charging bays across the group’s UK and European portfolio. The West Midlands project is the latest and the final UK location to go live.
As part of RAW’s Summer of Connecting Amazing Places, this new West Midlands hub joins a nationwide campaign running across RAW’s portfolio from mid-July through August. The initiative highlights RAW’s growing network at some of the UK’s favourite retail, leisure and hospitality destinations—making EV travel easier, greener and more enjoyable during the summer holiday season. From family days out at theme parks to designer outlet shopping and countryside escapes, RAW Charging is powering adventures across the country with fast, reliable charging infrastructure drivers can depend on.
Jason Simpson, CEO of RAW Charging, said: “We’re thrilled to bring our West Midlands destination online to complete the broader programme with McArthurGlen. This activation reinforces RAW’s role as a key infrastructure partner for retail locations across Europe. To celebrate the launch and the start of our Summer of Connecting Amazing Places campaign, we’re offering a week of free charging—helping drivers experience just how easy and enjoyable sustainable travel can be.”
David Jackson, UK facilities lead and McArthurGlen West Midlands centre manager, said: “This project is another great example of RAW’s ability to deliver high-impact solutions for everyday destinations. As EV ownership grows, it’s essential that infrastructure grows with it—and this new West Midlands hub is designed to make sustainable driving simple for local communities and visitors alike.”
