Sainsbury’s introduces new range of pan-Asian ready meals

From bustling street food stalls in Seoul to tasty noodle bars in Kyoto, the new by Sainsbury’s Pan-Asian range is inspired by the rich tapestry of Asian cuisine, aimed at bringing its exciting and diverse array of flavours to kitchens across the nation.

There is growing appetite for Pan-Asian dishes, with research showing that half of Brits have eaten upwards of five types of world cuisines at home over a 3-month period[1] Japanese, Korean and Thai cuisine among the fastest-growing in the UK[2].

“Our new range of meals are inspired by some of the bold and vibrant flavours you’d expect in popular Japanese, Indonesian, Korean and Thai dishes, so our customers can easily enjoy the foods they want more of, without the expense of travelling or hassle of scratch cooking” says Sainsbury’s Product Developer, Katy Winterbottom.

With mains starting at £4 and sides at £2.50, dishes can be enjoyed on their own or mixed-and-matched for a complete meal experience. Available now in selected Sainsbury’s stores and online, these single-serve meals are packed full of vibrant ingredients that will bring your tastebuds to life. Customers can choose from:

Mains

by Sainsbury’s Chicken Pad Thai Noodles – rice noodles with chargrilled chicken breast in a sweet and tangy tamarind, lime and galangal sauce, £4.

by Sainsbury’s Beef Bibimbap– marinated beef slices with kimchi style cabbage and soy roasted shiitake mushrooms on sushi rice, £4.

by Sainsbury’s Nasi Goreng – Indonesian style savoury chicken and egg fried rice in a garlic and chilli sauce with chargrilled vegetables, £4.

by Sainsbury’s Sticky Chilli Chicken Rice Bowl – chargrilled chicken breast with a sticky chilli, garlic and ginger sauce and mixed vegetables on sushi rice, £4.

by Sainsbury’s Teriyaki Chicken Donburi- chargrilled chicken breast with a sticky Japanese style teriyaki sauce topped with edamame beans on sushi rice, £4.

by Sainsbury’s Chicken Yaki Udon Noodles – Japanese style udon noodles coated in soy and ginger sauce with mixed vegetables and chargrilled chicken, £4.

by Sainsbury’s Spicy Gochujang Style Chicken Rice Bowl – chargrilled chicken breast with a vibrant Korean style sweet and sour sauce, pickled radish and mixed vegetables on sushi rice, £4.

Sides

by Sainsbury’s Chilli Fried Chicken – tender chicken breast fillets marinated with garlic and chilli in a crispy coating, £2.50.

by Sainsbury’s Edamame Beans with a garlic & chilli salt, £2.50.

by Sainsbury’s Fried Gyoza Selection– three prawn & three vegetable gyozas, £2.50.

by Sainsbury’s Crispy Panko Prawns with furikake & toasted sesame seeds, £2.50.

by Sainsbury’s Teriyaki Vegetable Bao Buns- steamed bao buns filled with teriyaki vegetables & vermicelli noodles, £2.50.
