AS Watson, owner of Superdrug, Savers and The Perfume Shop, has appointed Mark Peaker as its new supply chain director for Superdrug and Savers.
Peaker joined Superdrug as Head of Commercial Finance, bringing extensive experience in strategic finance and business transformation. In the role, he led teams responsible for several key commercial finance functions and supported major operational and supply chain projects across the business, including spearheading the shift of website fulfilment from distribution centres into stores, creating a faster, more agile fulfilment model that enables the business to respond more effectively to customer needs.
Prior to joining Superdrug, Peaker was head of finance transformation at the John Lewis Partnership, where he worked on major transformational projects focused on operational efficiency, productivity and investments in technology infrastructure.
In his new role, Peaker will oversee supply chain operations across both Superdrug and Savers, with a focus on strengthening the foundations of the network to better support demand both online and in-store, while unlocking the supply chain’s role as a driver of future growth.
Peaker comments: “I’m delighted to step into the role of supply chain director for Superdrug and Savers. Having already spent time working closely with teams across the business, I’ve seen firsthand the scale of ambition and the opportunity ahead as we continue to grow both brands.
“My focus is on building a supply chain that is efficient, resilient and capable of driving the next phase of growth. That means ensuring we have the right people, processes and technology in place, so our operations run smoothly and at pace, enabling the business to scale with confidence and deliver for customers across every channel.”
Superdrug CEO and director of AS Watson Health & Beauty UK, Peter Macnab said: “Mark has already made a significant contribution since joining Superdrug, bringing a strong strategic mindset and analytical rigour to a number of important operational projects.
“Supply chain is a key part of our business, underpinning everything from store availability to our ability to support continued growth. It plays a critical role in ensuring we deliver a consistent, quality experience for our customers, wherever and however they choose to shop with us. Mark’s combination of commercial expertise and operational insight makes him exceptionally well placed to lead this function as we continue to strengthen and develop our supply chain operations across both Superdrug and Savers.”
Mark’s appointment reflects AS Watson’s ongoing commitment to strengthening the operational foundations that support growth across both Superdrug and Savers, while they continue to meet evolving customer needs both online and in-store.
