The Pollen Estate is delighted to announce the opening of the new store from The Deck on Savile Row. Relocating from number 19 to 32 (one of the largest shopfronts on the esteemed tailoring street), this move constitutes the rapid rise of success for the female-led tailoring brand, simultaneously cementing its status as a leading player in the global sartorial scene. Specifically: a player who solely crafts for womankind.
Founded in 2019 by Daisy Knatchbull, The Deck was built on a desire to stitch the sensibilities of the world’s most successful women via a suited silhouette. Rejecting the convention that technically-perfect tailoring was reserved solely for the male gender, Knatchbull launched her made-to-measure brand with an array of classic canvases to build upon: from single breasted velvet suits and relaxed boyfriend jackets to contemporary safari styles and evening tuxedos. Bound by the utmost precision and quality, The Deck’s designs and company values (around conscious and mindful purchasing) have since acquired a loyal community of customers – including Lauren Hutton, Adjoa Andoh and Melanie C. “Decked Out” women are those who understand the endurance of a good suit and enhance its style through their own story.
In September 2020, The Deck made sartorial history by becoming the first women’s tailoring brand to set up shop on Savile Row. Now, just a little more than two years later and against all socially-restrictive odds – from the global pandemic to cost of living crisis – the house continues to strengthen the space for women in tailoring through its move from 19 to the greater number 32. Across a generous 2,000 square feet, clients of the community – both old and new – are promised an enhanced in-store experience for full custom women’s tailoring, with more than 7000 cloths to choose from, as well as a fine selection of linings, buttons and monogramming for each proposed suit. A bespoke shirt service is also on offer in the space.
The interior approach to this new Savile Row store aligns with the organic values of The Deck. Beginning with a wooden floor base (subtly echoing Parisian elegance through its Parquet-like etchings), the walls of the store are adorned with hand-woven silk wallpaper, custom crafted for The Deck by acclaimed designer: De Gournay. From here, this decadent sense of framing gives way to limitless self-reflections and sartorial possibilities through a flowing series of antique and gilded mirrors. In front of them, you’ll find golden rails of suits: each piece waiting to be selected, re-adapted from scratch and subsequently elevated by the charisma of its wearer. Sharply minimalist and unapologetically feminine, 32 Savile Row is set to be the go-to destination for female expressions to be translated into uniforms for life. A setting that harnesses the power of independent women via style – authentically delivered by a young woman herself.
In light of the new store opening, founder of The Deck, Daisy Knatchbull, says: “I launched The Deck in 2019 with a vision to dress the success of the world’s most self-empowered women –
and three years later, I couldn’t be prouder of where our house stands. This new space on Savile Row is the biggest physical manifestation of The Deck to date; designed and curated to reflect the grand scale of our garments on offer. I’m incredibly excited to continue with the creation of all tailored identities from this tremendous space. Whether you’re an existing customer of The Deck or someone with a newfound sartorial curiosity, our new doors are always open to welcome you, because our story cannot exist without yours.” Jenny Casebourne, Head of Portfolio at The Pollen Estate commented, “We are delighted to support The Deck as they continue to expand on Savile Row. Their move to Number 32 exemplifies the exciting future that female tailoring has on the prestigious street.”
The Deck’s new store is open now. 32 Savile Row, London, W1S 3PT.
