thortful
thortful, the UK’s leading online marketplace for greeting cards, is entering a bold new chapter with a vibrant rebrand that’s as unique as the creators behind its designs.

Renowned for its innovative, bold, quirky cards, every aspect of thortful’s updated look—from colours and fonts to a quirky new cast of characters—embodies a fresh, optimistic, and playful personality.

Sarah Pearce, marketing director of thortful, stated: “We’re stepping boldly into a new era, with a look that’s unapologetically bold, optimistic, and delightfully quirky—just like us. Inspired by our brilliant creator community, we’ve crafted a visual identity that’s handmade, heartfelt, and full of personality—designed to stand out and build brand equity while staying true to who we are. Playful, yes, but with purpose and precision—because being different is what makes us better.”

At the heart of the rebrand is Optimistic Orange, now the hero colour, radiating positivity across thortful’s entire identity.

The familiar thought bubble icon takes centre stage in the graphic design, alongside a revamped font palette that celebrates the handmade and the bold brush-style headline font and typewritten supporting font, giving every card and communication a heartfelt, human touch.

The creative overhaul doesn’t stop there. To bring extra personality to its playful messaging, thortful is introducing a lineup of brand-new characters: Etch, Hatch, Scrawl, and Scratch. These whimsical figures will pop up across all customer touchpoints, adding charm, humour, and a sprinkle of mischief to the thortful experience.

Pip Heywood, Managing Director at thortful adds, “Brands, like people, should evolve with confidence and adapt. As we mark 10 years as the UK’s leading creator-led card marketplace, we’re unveiling a bold new identity.  This evolution will reaffirm our position as a disruptor in the category, while building upon our current market share and awareness.  Within this, we’re doubling down on what matters most to us, our creators & our customers: supporting small creators, prioritizing UK manufacturing, and curating sustainable gifts – all while building a business with purpose & distinction.”

thortful’s rebrand is just in time for Valentine’s Day, the busiest season for thoughtful gestures, with the full rollout continuing into 2025.

thortful’s fresh branding coincides with the debut of its new Face Swap tool, powered by AI technology. This innovative feature lets customers personalise cards like never before, blending nostalgia with cutting-edge tech to create unforgettable moments.
