Aqua Pura, the Cumbrian based natural mineral water brand, has announced it will be the official hydration partner of the AJ Bell Great Run Series.
The new partnership, which is being announced during nutrition and hydration week, will help keep runners hydrated throughout races across the UK, including the series’ flagship AJ Bell Great North Run. The AJ Bell Great North Run, which is taking place on the 10th September is the world’s largest half marathon and the UK’s biggest running event, with 60,000 entrants. What’s more, the brand is also working with GB Olympic Marathon Runner, Stephanie Davis, to help educate the nation on the importance of hydration when running.
One in 10 Brits admit that they don’t drink additional water when doing exercise*, so the partnership aims to not only inform runners of the need to keep water levels topped up, but also help combat dehydration problems at events.
“Keeping people hydrated is what we do here at Aqua Pura. As a brand, we’re passionate about helping families nationwide live an active and adventurous life, while keeping their hydration levels topped up. With this in mind, the partnership with the AJ Bell Great Run Series felt like a natural fit and we can’t wait to see everyone at the finishing line. As part of the campaign, we’re also working with marathon runner Stephanie Davis to help educate the nation about hydration and running,” comments Terri Cooper, marketing manager at Aqua Pura.
Being the official hydration partner of the series means water provided by Aqua Pura will be available for runners to pick up at hydration stations throughout a number of runs hosted by the AJ Bell Great Run Series. What’s more, as part of the finishers pack, runners will receive a bottle of Aqua Pura to help replenish their water levels.
Staying hydrated when running longer distances is really important. This partnership will help us to keep our competitors fit and healthy during our events, and we can’t wait for Aqua Pura to be involved.” adds Nicky Homes, commercial director at The Great Run Company.
Aqua Pura’s 330ml bottles are 100 per cent recyclable, while the bottle itself is also made from 100 per cent recycled materials. The lightweight bottles, which are perfect for keeping runners hydrated, incorporate an innovative ‘flip to open, snap to close’ integrated cap. Attached to the bottle, the flip cap means the caps are less likely to get lost during the race, while also making them easier to get them into the recycling waste with the bottle rather than discarded in a general waste bin.
Great Run is committed to making continuous improvements to the sustainability of their events. Part of that commitment involves working with local partners to maximise recycling.
The new partnership with the AJ Bell Great Run Series comes as Aqua Pura launches a new campaign which aims to encourage families to go on more adventures together. For more information about Aqua Pura visit https://aqua-pura.com/
