Dr.PAWPAW has been honoured with a King’s Award for Enterprise for International Trade. Dr.PAWPAW is one of 197 organisations nationally to be recognised with a prestigious King’s Award for Enterprise.
His Majesty The King has approved the Prime Minister’s recommendation Dr.PAWPAW should receive a King’s Award for Enterprise in the International Trade category this year.
Announced on 6 May, Dr.PAWPAW has been recognised for its excellence in International Trade.
Employing 20 people, Dr.PAWPAW was founded in 2013 in response to a direct need of the founders Johnny & Pauline Paterson’s young daughter. Suffering with severe eczema as a baby, with steroid creams suggested by the doctor, the couple turned business partners opted for a more natural alternative – the PAWPAW (papaya) balm – that native Australian Pauline had and which worked wonders.
With a strong demand in the UK for a papaya based balm, Dr.PAWPAW was born to fill this gap in the market and has since become the number one selling PAWPAW balm in Europe. Dr.PAWPAW now holds over 40 global awards and has a long list of A-list celebrity fans. It is a staple product in the kits of makeup artists and can be found in some of the largest retailers around the world.
“Johnny and I are absolutely delighted to be recognised by the King’s Awards. Since we started the business in 2013, it was our dream to take a British brand all over the world and bring fun, natural and vegan products to the masses at an affordable price. We are a totally inclusive brand and to get this recognition at this stage really means the world to us. We will fly this award as high as we can,” said Pauline Paterson, co-founder of Dr.PAWPAW.
“Both Pauline and I are UK Government Export Champions and this achievement for International Trade once again celebrates the great work we’ve done with export since launching the business. We are now reaching customers all around the world, and winning the King’s Awards for Enterprise for International Trade celebrates the dedication and resilience that have driven our international success,” said Johnny Paterson, co-founder of Dr.PAWPAW.
The King’s Awards for Enterprise, previously known as The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise, were renamed in 2023 to reflect His Majesty The King’s desire to continue the legacy of HM Queen Elizabeth II’s by recognising outstanding UK businesses. The Award programme, now in its 59th year, is the most prestigious business award in the country, with successful businesses able to use the esteemed King’s Awards Emblem for the next five years.
