Greggs opens landmark 600th franchise shop

GreggsLeading UK food-to-go retailer Greggs today announces the opening of its 600th franchise shop in Stonecross Services, Bexwell, with long-term franchise partner Motor Fuel Group (MFG).

The landmark opening reflects both the strength of Greggs’ partnership network and the momentum behind its wider estate expansion strategy. Greggs’ franchise partnerships play a central role in unlocking high-traffic and otherwise restricted locations, including motorway service areas, petrol filling stations, train stations and smaller convenience destinations. Today, Greggs works with 14 franchise partners across the UK, each supporting the broadening of the brand’s reach and accessibility. In 2025, the business added 57 new franchised shops, with franchised sites now representing just over 20% of the total estate.

Through its partnership with MFG, Greggs now operates 147 shops across the MFG estate, primarily situated at petrol filling station sites and roadside locations designed to serve customers on-the-go. The newest opening at Stonecross Services, just off the A10, further strengthens this footprint.

Tony Rowson, property director at Greggs, commented: “Reaching 600 franchise shops is a milestone achievement for Greggs and our partners. It underlines the continued success of our franchise model and the vital role our partners play in accelerating the expansion of our estate. As we close out 2025, we remain committed to ensuring Greggs is available in more of the locations our customers want us most.”
