Iceland Foods has announced a major milestone for its the Food Warehouse stores, with the opening of the 200th store in Worcester on 14th October.
The Food Warehouse was the brainchild of Iceland founder, Sir Malcolm Walker, who had a vision of creating a large format store with car parking where people could find big brands and Iceland quality food at great prices.
Sir Malcolm identified a gap in the market for a cash and carry style retail offer that also catered to non-business customers, leading to the creation of The Food Warehouse. The first store opened in 2014, and it has since become a staple in retail parks across
the UK, famous for its in bulk deals on household brands. Its stores are often double the size of traditional Iceland stores and are designed to replicate the size of a warehouse with wide aisles and a large selection of products.
This Morning presenter and star of Iceland adverts, Josie Gibson, has the honour of opening the store next Tuesday where she will be doing a trolley dash to support a local food bank. There will also be a £2000 giveaway for the first 200 customers thanks to support from Britvic Tango.
Iceland Executive Chairman, Richard Walker OBE, has said that The Food Warehouse is central to Iceland Foods’ growth plans and aims to continue opening 20 stores a year.
The Food Warehouse Worcester will offer multi-buy deals, including 5 for £5, 3 for £10 and 8 for £10 deals, alongside exclusive The Food Warehouse ranges, such as Slimming World, Cathedral City, TGI Friday’s and more.
Shoppers who are over 60 can also take advantage of Iceland’s 10% discount, available every Tuesday across stores. Students can also get 10% discount on a Wednesday. Customers can find out information about further offers on the Bonus Club app.
