IKEA has today announced its next wave of price cuts on hundreds of its most-loved items – including the iconic ‘BILLY Bookcase’ – ahead of the Easter holidays, as part of its ongoing commitment to provide a more affordable life at home for customers.

The retailer is passing on £125m in savings made through the easing of cost pressures into New Lower Pricing for its customers. From today [March 18], 400 items will be reduced across its Living Room, Bathroom, Bedroom ranges and more.

It’s part of a continued roll-out of New Lower Prices across hundreds of items which kicked off in January on 1,500 products, serving as a long-term change to pricing of items.

Customers will be able to shop some of the retailer’s most popular items such as BILLY Bookcases – £199 down to £150 – and BRIMNES and MALM bedframes – with savings of up to £60 – boosting affordability for shoppers during what continues to be a challenging cost living environment for many.

Earlier this year, the retailer announced it had experienced improvements to purchasing goods costs in 2023, after a challenging period in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, enabling it to increase affordability on thousands of items.

Michaela Quinlan, chief commercial officer at IKEA UK and Ireland, said: “At IKEA, our aim has always been to ensure our items are as affordable as possible for as many people as possible. The next wave of New Lower Prices represents the next phase in our commitment to restore more affordable pricing on our most in-demand ranges – passing on savings to help customers’ budgets stretch further.”

Among IKEA’s new lower price items are:

BILLY Bookcase

You can get a BILLY Bookcase (80x30x202, pictured above*) with glass doors and a stylish grey-metallic finish for £150, down from £199. A range of supporting items from the BILLY family are also reduced, including the white drawer on castors from £35 to £25, and the tall and slim (40x28x202) bookcase is down to £35 from £39. Meanwhile, the bestselling BILLY bookcase (80x28x202) remains at £55. (*Two bookcases depicted in image above)

FJÄLLBO shelving unit

Originally £129 down to £99, the FJÄLLBO shelving unit (100×136) is perfect for creating a rustic look at home – with black metal detail which gives an industrial feel, combined with solid wood, serving as eye-catching decor in an office or living space.

HEMNES glass door cabinet

Within IKEA’s popular HEMNES range, the 3-drawer, glass-door cabinet is available in four different colourways, with each down from £350 to £299. Made from sustainably sourced solid pine, not only is this item great for extra storage, it’s a sleek and stylish addition to a living room or sitting area.

BRIMNES and MALM bedframes

BRIMNES double bedframe with storage is down from £224 to £174, while a king is down from £274 to £214. MALM double ottoman bed is down from £459 to £399, while a king is down from £529 to £449, giving you a gorgeous new bed with handy extra storage space.

ENHET bathroom solutions

Much of the ENHET bathroom range is reduced within New Lower Prices, with items such as washbasin cabinet drawers down from £60 to £50 and anthracite wall shelves down from £35 to £29. A range of different options available to suit a range of styles.

HUMLEMOTT

A thick bath towel with a classic striped edge for a luxury feel, the popular white towel in 70×140 is down from £19 to £13.

DRÖNA

The ever-popular DRÖNA boxes, dimensioned for KALLAX shelving, have also been reduced: from £4 down to £3.
