Lakeside Shopping Centre, part of SGS Group, is set to further diversify its premium retail line-up and cement its credentials as a leading hub for fashionable, desirable jewellery with the launch of Jewells, a disruptive new concept from the founder of global accessories brand Lovisa.
The 1,000sq ft store, which opens on Friday 30th May, is one of seven UK Jewells locations launching on the same day as part of the brands’ official debut. Its arrival marks the sixth new leasing already confirmed at Lakeside this year, following recent announcements including Reiss, Wendy’s, Chipotle and Popeyes.
Jewells’ fully immersive space will provide Lakeside’s customers with access to a vast range of jewellery, luxury piercing and fine line tattoo services, personal styling appointments as well as a ‘Make Your Own Memory’ stack bar – an interactive feature designed to drive dwell time and create a personalised shopping experience.
Leah Uka, chief brand officer at Jewells, said: “Lakeside is a key location for our launch strategy – a vibrant centre with strong footfall, a great mix of brands and a loyal customer base that aligns with our target audience. Jewells has been created to provide cutting edge, on trend premium jewellery, and we’re excited to bring our unique concept to this part of the UK.”
Rob Jewell, managing director, asset management at Pradera Lateral, added: “Bringing Jewells to Lakeside highlights the ongoing appeal of the centre to ambitious brands looking to make a splash in the UK retail market. As we continue to elevate the centre’s tenant mix, our focus remains on attracting fresh and experience-led concepts that resonate with today’s shoppers. Jewells is exactly the kind of brand that supports our ambition to make Lakeside the region’s leading retail and lifestyle destination.”
With ambitious growth plans over the next 12 months, Jewells has partnered with Lakeside to deliver a launch that aims to drive successes for both the brand and Lakeside. Jewells will join the likes of Swarovski, Beaverbrooks, Chisholm Hunter and Thomas Sabo in the centre, further enhancing its line-up of fashionable and fine jewellery retailers.
Eldon Square, Newcastle’s much loved premier shopping and leisure destination, also announces it has secured the flagship Northern store for a brand new entrant into the jewellery market, Jewells. Founded by the business mogul behind the brand Lovisa, Brett Bundy, Jewells is a transformative brand geared towards a young female audience.
The announcement of Jewells’ imminent arrival comes after a slew of exciting leasing developments at Eldon Square in the past 12 months, including the North East’s flagship Sephora store and the announcement of leisure attractions Flight Club and Freight Island. As such, Jewells is set to find its home in a centre that is focused on delivering a curated retail and leisure environment that reflects the evolving needs of visitors and brands alike.
As the only site in the North, the 1000sq ft store, located next to Molton Brown joins six other retail destinations which will all be opening Jewells stores on May 30th. It will stock an extensive range of jewellery items ranging from £30 to £3,000 as well as offer luxury piercing, fine line tattoo services, personal styling services and a ‘Make your Own Memory’ stack bar – all services which exemplify the brand’s ethos of going above and beyond for its customers.
Uka commented: “We are absolutely delighted to have the opportunity to open one of our first-ever stores at Eldon Square – a location that embodies everything we look for in a retail partner. As a vibrant and much-loved shopping destination in the heart of Newcastle, Eldon Square offers the perfect setting to introduce the Jewells brand to the North East. We have ambitious growth plans over the coming 12 months and cannot wait to welcome Eldon Square customers to experience everything we have to offer.”
Matthew Beddow, senior director at Pradera Lateral, added: “Securing the sole Northern store for Jewells’ first foray into the UK market reinforces Eldon Square’s position as a key destination for leading and emerging retail brands and highlights our ability to draw enviable tenants to the centre. Jewells’ offering brings a fresh and elevated experience to our jewellery and accessories line-up, and we’re confident it will resonate strongly with our shopper base.”
