Manchester ArndaleManchester Arndale is pleased to announce that Moss Bros. Group Ltd has selected the centre for its latest Manchester location, after agreeing to take a 4,157sq ft unit on New Cannon Street.

The new store will open as Moss, reflecting the brand’s evolution to a modern, omni-channel retailer, with a broad product offer from casual to formalwear, whilst retaining the tailoring heritage for special occasions customers know and love.

Moss, Manchester Arndale will showcase the best of its spring summer 2023 offering, with versatile pieces designed for all life’s moments, crafted with quality fabrics from respected tailoring regions such as Italy and Japan. The offering includes the hugely successful casualwear range that was launched in AW21, Hire services, and Custom Made suiting. It also includes ready-to-wear edits in collaboration with Fred Sirieix.

Moss recently announced a doubling of profits for the 12 months to January 2023 as the brand continued its post-Covid recovery. Profits on a EBITDA basis rose by 112% from £17 million to £36 million, with turnover rising by 63% from £93.1 million to £151.6 million in the same period.

This arrival of Moss follows a flurry of new retail lettings including Gilly Hicks, Clarks, Flying Tiger, MINISO, Tommy Hilfiger, Kick Game and Kurt Geiger, as well as a significant upsize for Sports Direct, all helping to cement Manchester Arndale’s diverse retail offering.

Steve Gray, head of European retail asset management at Global Mutual, said: “Manchester Arndale has a fantastic retail offering, and we continue to ensure there’s something for everyone, from formalwear brands like Moss to sportswear specialists, and from high end luxury to more affordable options as well. For shoppers looking to make the most out of their trip we also have a varied F&B offering, with Krispy Kreme and local favourites Bubble CiTea and Lazy Sundaes amongst the most recent arrivals. As we move through the year, we’re looking forward to announcing more exciting brands as we continue to reinforce Manchester Arndale’s reputation as a vibrant destination that attracts millions of visitors from across the North West and beyond.”

Brian Brick, CEO of Moss Bros. Group,  added: “Our customers tell us they want physical stores in the heart of their communities, and as such we are committed to the high street and the role that our stores and style advisors play in delivering the best brand experience for our audience. Our new store in Manchester Arndale will heighten the customer experience with a modern interior which will allow our product and services to stand out. We are proud to renew our commitment to serve our customers in Manchester in this amazing new store.”

M&G Real Estate and Global Mutual act as joint asset managers of Manchester Arndale while Metis Real Estate and Time Retail Partners are the centre’s retained letting agents. FMX Urban Property Advisers acted on behalf of Moss.
